Interactive images are resources with a very simple structure, but don't be fooled: there's a whole world to be discovered inside. At first glance, we see the base or 'canvas', which can be an image, illustration, photograph, map... but thanks to its points of interactivity spread all over the canvas, we can access tons of content that gives us more details about that part of the image.

Unleash the power!

You are probably thinking of historical events or biographies, but it can also be used to describe the steps of a process or project. In addition, students can randomly delve into the events that interest them the most, without having to stick to aspecific order.

What are they for?

Want to teach en event in a more visual way and make it easier to understand? With a timeline, students will understand at a glance details such as duration, sequence, and connection to other different events.

What are they?

Extension, reinforcement, or revision activities are resources that include very specific content and pieces of information. They are usually linked with specific units or topics, as a support to reach the learning objectives.

And, these kinds of flashcard dynamics are very motivating, as they hold their attention and each answer and interaction opens up new possibilities for discussion and active participation.

What are they for?

Use them to help students recall concepts and ideas. There's no need to complicate things: you can present them with simple questions or tasks that make them think before interacting with them and revealing the answer.

This will help them better understand the context and story behind the image, which is why they are great for teaching paintings or other content with a strongvisual component!

What are they for?

Interactive images are perfect for conveying ideas in a very simple way and encouraging student interaction and curiosity aboutyour content. They will be able to explore the image and discover each point of interactivity at theirown pace.

And if we put all the information in a guide, we will also help the students to plan and organize themselves, since they will be able to access the information when they need it.

What are they for?

In short: making our lives easier. We can create interactive resources to help us plan our subject and program the activities we want to carry out during the school year.

Creating an interactive timeline isvery simple. Follow these steps Want to know more about creating a great timeline? Find out here

A portfolio is a curated collection of a student's work that showcases their achievements, skills, and learning progress over time. It is a dynamic representation of the student's educational journey.

What are they?

A microsite refers to a small, specialized website created to host specific content related to a particular topic, project, or learning initiative. It is a focused and often temporary online space dedicated to a specific educational purpose.

What are they?

Interactive images are resources with a very simple structure, but don't be fooled: there's a whole world to be discovered inside. At first glance, we see the base or 'canvas', which can be an image, illustration, photograph, map... but thanks to its points of interactivity spread all over the canvas, we can access tons of content that gives us more details about that part of the image.

Extra bonus:

Sharing them with the students will increase their participation, as they will be able to better understand the objectives and how they will be evaluated.

What are they for?

To have all our content, resources, and activities in one place - it's the all-in-one tool! Use them to create authentic learning experiences, where students can explore, expand, and dive in as they wish. What are they for?

Quizzes are great for reinforcing and testing rote learning and for improving understanding and application of conceptual knowledge.

With Genially, you can enrich your unit plan with all kinds of resources and elements. Although, sometimes, the most complicated thing is not selecting and inserting these resources, but awakening the motivation of the students from the start. Interactive breakouts and escapes rooms are gamification activities in which students have to overcome a series of challenges to open locks or locked boxes (breakout), or escape from a situation (escape room).

We know: you have a lot of information to present in your new genially, but you want it to be accessible and easy to assimilate. Don't worry: interactivity is your best friend! How about putting interactive windows in your subject guide? Excellent decision! This way you can include longer texts and multimedia or external content. The process is very simple and can be used for any element of your course guide or any other content, as shown in this video. Learn more about the different interactivity and animation options here

A presentation

infinitepossibilities!

Add videos, audios, images, gifs, maps... whatever you can think of. Not only will it be more motivating, but you will also be helping students to retain and internalize the information by presenting it in different ways and formats.

What are they for?

You can use them to present a concept or a topic in a general way. And, because it's interactive, you can add more information and interactive elements to expand the information. You will capture the attention of your class, whatever the age or subject.

What are they?

Interactive presentations are a set of slides which follow an order and a structure in order to present a topic or some information in a very visual way.

Exploring is fun! That’s why the flashlight trick is always a great success. You can use it in the creation of gamification content to hide a secret code or anything that fits with your story. This resource will make your escape game even more engaging. To create this effect:

  1. Make the canvas background black, or whatever color you like.
  2. Add an object like a flashlight, a lightbulb, or a magnifying glass to your canvas. You can use the search bar in Resources to find it.
  3. Then also add a shape that will act as a beam of light, group it with the flashlight, and make it draggable. Give it a color that stands out on the background.
  4. Now add the text boxes and objects that you want to be hidden and give them the same color as the background.
When you move the flashlight around the canvas, the hidden objects will become visible, like in this example.

Try it out before sharing it. In order for this trick to work, the flashlight must be between the canvas background and the hidden objects. You need to add the canvas background first, then the flashlight, and then the objects. If you haven’t done it in this order, you can use the Order button to reposition them. Much like a music playlist that features a collection of songs, an educational playlist organizes a sequence of instructional elements that students can navigate through to achieve a set of learning goals. Playlists are a form of instructional design that promotes personalized and self-paced learning experiences.

It also promotes the inclusion in the classroom of students with learning difficulties or those who are shy. And as if that were not enough, they develop skills such as critical thinking and problem solving, so they won't want to stop learning!

What are they for?

Board games are so versatile that you can use them at almost any time in your classes: to introduce concepts of any topic, to review knowledge and skills in a playful way, or as an assessment tool, if we involve students in choosing the questionsand answers. No more worries! Because of their relaxed and fun nature, they motivate students to continue playing and solving the questions without fear of making mistakes.

The purpose of a word wall is to create a visual reference that students can easily access during lessons. Teachers use word walls to reinforce spelling, promote reading comprehension, and expand students' vocabulary. Students are encouraged to refer to the word wall when reading, writing, or discussing topics, fostering a print-rich environment and supporting language acquisition. Additionally, interactive activities such as word games and discussions can be incorporated to make the learning process more engaging.

Open up to the world and share important school or class events or information!

You can create a newspaper, a microsite, and even interactive posts for social networks - they'll love being kept up to date with all the achievements and milestones!

Use them to communicate with your students, their families, and theeducation community.

What are they?

Anchor charts are a visual learning tool used in classrooms to support instruction and enhance student understanding. Typically created by teachers, these charts serve as a reference point for students throughout a unit or lesson.

What are they?

With Genially, you can create resources that'll help you with assessment, such as checklists, assessment scales, and rubrics. And after the assessment... reward students for their participation and efforts with an interactive certificateor diploma!

It will be easier than ever for them to self-evaluate and co-evaluate among peers, promoting the exchange of opinions and the development of their social skills. And, if you give them an interactive certificate or diploma at the end of the evaluation process, they'll want to show it off with pride and this will increase their motivation for the next learning sessions!

What are they for?

These resources are great for teachers, as they help you to assess in a structured and transparent way. You'll save time and effort at evaluation time, as you only have to identify what position the student is in and mark it. They're great for students too!

They also allow you to easily detect the content to be reinforced. If you notice that a considerable number of students fail on the same questions, you will immediately know which topics and concepts to focus on to ensure the success of all students.

What are they for?

Use them to reinforce learning in a much more enjoyable way. Test coming up? No problem! Have your class review their knowledge with an interactive game. It'll help calm those nerves. And by providing a playful and relaxed atmosphere, it makes it easier for the whole class to participate.
