How?

  • look for suitable OER on the platforms of e.g. the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and the University of Michigan;

  • preferably use (English-language) materials by partner universities with a quality label (e.g. ENLIGHT partners), and with whom you can make specific arrangements. Any materials developed in the context of an Erasmus+ education project are by definition open source.

  • please consider your students' starting competencies when it comes to foreign languages;

  • be sure to explain the added value of the OER. Establish the link with the international/intercultural competencies you want your students to attain and make sure that the materials you use tie in logically with your course unit.
What?

Open source materials are learning and teaching materials (text books, video clips, presentations, spreadsheets, MOOCs, websites, footage...) developed by universities abroad and made available as Open Educational Resource (OER). The OER offer is open for everyone to use, to copy, to adapt, and to distribute in an adapted version. You can use OER from universities abroad to incorporate international perspectives into your course unit and to confront students with other (teaching) cultures.
