Who we're Working with
The Current Opportunity
They have a large footpring in AWS and GCP. This is managed outside of IT/ Infra - owned by DevOps, SRE, and Engineering. They have AWS (RDS, Redshift) & GCP (CloudSQL) + SAP HANA Also have: O365, Google Workspace, Okta, Confluence, Salesforce,
Itron Idea Labs, IoT, Smart Cities, EV's, and metering solutions run on cloud PaaS for scalability.

They build Itrons SaaS offerings in AWS and Azure and have a GCP footprint (GCS commit) doesn't look like we backup cloud workloads and they may not even have a backup, looks like mostly scripting and we can save them a ton of time by automating cloud BU/DR Also we can make sure their SaaS apps are able to failover to a different location or to onprem in the event of an outage.
Get outside of IT, get introd to DevOps, SRE, Software Engineering, CLoud Architects
- AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift)
- GCP (MySQL, SQL, GCE)
- SAP HANA
- Confluence
- Okta
- Salesforce

Suggested Use Case
HOW WE START WORKING WITH THEM
HYBRID (AWS/Azure/aaS)
We can expand beyond their onpremiseVMware and Azure instance and into IaaS, PaaS, DBaaS, and SaaS. All of this in on UI, can be billed through cloud licensing.
- Failover onprem/cloud
- Multi-region DR
- R-Graph can leverage their okta to ensure all instances are backed up and recoverable
- Reduce TCO & Consolidate licensing, reducing number of vulnerabilities across data estate
Ask about their SaaS offerings, where do they run, what is their DR plan?
Who manages AWS EC2 instances + RDS databases + Redshift Data Warehouse? Where does Itron IoT, metering software, lighting software, and other customer facing apps run and how do you keep them live in the event of an outage or disaster? **what happens to your performance if they go down?**
