Berta Cáceres, aged 44 years old, one of the most recognized defenders of human rights, indigenous peoples and the environment, and, at the same time, one of the most threatened women in Honduras, she was murdered by armed men who entered her home in the department of Intibucá, west of Tegucigalpa.
