INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS

FOR EXPERIMENT 9 AND 10

  1. KARYOTYPE result from prenatal sample Amniotic fluid culture.
  2. FISH result from the given patient sample with specific clinical details.

START

GROUP 2- Prenatalgroup e- FISH

FARHEEN, PRIYADARSHINE, DIVYA, JANANI, BHUVANESHWARI

Karyotype result for prenatal diagnosis

01

Chromosomal analysis from a long-term amniotic fluid culture and its interpretated results

GROUP 2- KARYOTYPE RESULT

Karyotype of amniotic fluid sample- RESULT significance

  • From the result, obtained we can observe the presence of a SINGLE X CHROMOSOME
  • Absence of Y or the other X chromosome can be observed
  • All the other autosomal chromosomes are identified to be normal without any Numerical or Structural abnormalities.
  • Numerical abnormality in X chromosome [MONOSOMY X] is detected from the prenatal sample
  • NO STRUCTURAL ABNORMALITY FOUND IN THE SINGLE X CHROMOSOME
  • The karyotype result can be interpreted as TURNERS SYNDROME- From the given amniotic fluid sample
  • 45,X- ISCN

+ INFO

fish result interpretation from the given patient sample

02

FISH results were analysed and interpreted in context to specific clinical history provided and the data was compared with it.

CLINICAL HISTORY, SAMPLE TYPE AND PROBE

  • 21 Year old adult sample
  • Peripheral blood sample
  • Probe provided for sex chromosomes
  • Signals to identify X and Y chromosomes

+ GIVEN DATA

FISH FROM THE GIVEN PATIENT SAMPLE- RESULT SIGNIFICANCE

  • From the following image we can observe the results for FISH
  • FILTERS:
1. DAPI- BLUE (NUCLEUS) 2. FITC - GREEN ( X CHROMOSOME) 3. SPO - RED & ORANGE (Y CHROMOSOME)
  • Two green signals were observed in each blue background- indicating the presence of both the X chromosome.
  • NO red signals (Y Chromosomes) were observed in the confinements of the nucleus.
  • The RED dot you can observe in the image is outside the blue background which is not present in the nucleus.
  • The result is observed to have both the x chromosomes with the absence of Y chromosome.
  • But as the clinical history suggest features of turner Syndrome, further analysis on the X chromosome to be done in case of structural abnormalities present. (THROUGH KARYOTYPING)
