How did William the Conqueror use the feudal system to gain complete control over his kingdom? He gave large areas of land to the noblemen, clergy, lords, and barons, so they would return the favor to him with political power, money, weapons and slaves to increase his army.

What was the effect of William's strong central government on England as a whole?

His conquest had significant effects on both civilizations, he displaced the pre-conquest Anglo-Saxon nobility to add a lot of words to the English language, new architectures were introduced, feudalism became more powerful and he bring back the power of churches
