Soviet and cinema background
It dates back to the nineteenth century when the movement from feudalism to capitalism and then by Karl Marx to communism. The revolution of 1917 put an end to the rule of the tsar Romanov within just 5 days led by Karl Marks leading the Bolsheviks. By November the Bolsheviks members of the working class proletariat were in power. Following Russia Going through some tough times with the revolution and the First World War, the Soviet film industry wasn't at its highest points and didn't start making films in great numbers until the mid-1920s. By then history changing figures had theorized about cinema from a communist point of view, individuals such as Dizga Vertov, Lev Kuleshov and Sergei Eisenstein.
The history of soviets and cinema
Interview
Soviet montage is an approach and understanding of theand editing in film, different sequences edited together in juxtaposition can express a new and separate complex idea.Eisenstein’s defining accomplishment was his role as a critical film theorist. he looked at how things such as changing the duration of a shot (how long it stayed on screen), using movement in the shot, and its emotional content, would affect audiences. His way of stylistic techniques and editing methods came to define even modern cinema. Eisenstein’s montage theory is about the way in which films were being edited and transformed: from the actual filming, to the editing process, and finally the projection. In his own work, Eisenstein introduced the technique of overlapping individual shots in a sequential fashion, instead of presenting them contiguous. He famously argued that “each sequential element [should be] perceived not next to the other, but on top of the other.” Eisenstein’s innovative approach to the Soviet montage theory not only inspired his fellow Russian filmmakers but also filmmakers worldwide.

Eisenstein's remarkable movies
Eisenstein's first film created was Strike, soon followed by one of the most revolutionary propaganda considered films, Battleship Potemkin, which would go on to be his most famed film due to his use of montage and editing. He approached the execution of the film just like the tragedy in real life, unfolding in few different parts. Eisenstein’s emphasis on montage, politics, and highlighted on the treatment of the masses instead of the individual and showed the world that political propaganda could also be considered art. The success of Battleship Potemkin lead Eisenstein to more propaganda projects including films such as October. (also known as Ten Days that Shook the World) a grand tenth anniversary celebration of the October Revolution of 1917, and Old and New (also known as The General Line) to illustrate the collectivism of the countryside.

The intentwith Kuleshof effect is to give a spechific meaning/mood/feeling to the viewer.Lev Kuleshov has shown trough his experimentation the effects that it can have, hge demonstrated that the audeinces, when shown a shot of an actor, followed by a range of shots it gave the character seem like having a reaction (as well mentally) , each time seeming different and corresponding with the shot despite the actor's face was at all times neutral. what this effect does is it changes the viewer's perspectives and interpretation based of of the situation on screen and shots used.
