Pyramids of Giza
Last wonder of the ancient world
For many years it was thought that the Great Pyramid of Giza was built by thousands of slaves, but Egyptologists have accepted that many skilled workers were at the forefront of this project. The Khufu's nephew planned the construction, and the pharaoh spent large sums of money dressing and feeding the workers with quality products.
According to Egyptologists, the Great Sphinx was carved from a mound of limestone located on the plateau of Giza. It has a height of about twenty meters, and its face measures over five meters. The head is said to represent the pharaoh Khafra.
Did you know that when the construction of the pyramids began, the mammoths were not yet extinct?
