ACIENT EGYPT TIMELINE
after life bielifs
Egyptians bielived that when they died their spiritual body would still live in an afterlife, very similar to their living world. However, the entry to this afterlife wasn't guaranted. The dead had to go through a dangerous underworld journey, and face a final judge to see if they got an access. These things could be achieved if actual preparations were made during a the person's life.
Egyptian religion was Polytheistic, which means they believed in many gods. The acient egyptians workshipped over 2,000 gods and goddesses. Whith each god making an important role in very day life Some of the most important gods include: RA: God of the sun, ANUBIS: God of the dead HORUS: God of the sky, NUT & GEB- God and Goddess of, ISIS: the goddess of healing and magic. These all were gods and godesses which the acient egytian bielived in.
GODS
A lot of different preparations were required, these included:1. PURCHASE OF SMALL FUNERAL ITEMS: Funeral items were placed in the tomb, these were bought in special places as specials shops or temples. Wealthier people get items such as: furniture, expensive coffins and jewllery. Items were divided into two classes: The ones for protection in the after life and the gods or essentials as; food or clothing. 2. COMMISSIONING OR BUYING A COFFIN: Coffins were probably the most important piece of funerary. They were made to protect every single part of the body for the afterlife, it was covered with prayers and spells from funerary texts, important religious symbols, and drawings of some gods and goddesses related with death, protection and the underworld. FACT: The first coffins were rectangular and simple wooden boxes. 3. PREPARING THE TOMBS Many years could spend building a tomb, which for the acient egyptians was called as 'Houses of eternity'. They were normally built on the western bank of the nile, in the land of death. They were made of non-perishable material like stones.

The archeologists believe taht the sphinx was built between 2575 and 2150 B.C, by the fourth dynasty pharaoh: Khafre. By this data they believe it is 4500 years old, they link this age to Khafre. The sphinx is one of the oldest monumental sculptures and one of the largest as well,
WHEN WAS IT BUILT?
The exact purpose of it isn't really clear yet, but its thought it was built as a protector of the tomb and temples of that area. However some people believe that it was built by Khafre's older brother (Redjedef) to commemorate their father, Khufu.
The sphinx is a limesone statue of a mythical creature with the face of a human and the body of a lion. It is on Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt.

Cats are ilustarted in tombs as early in the Old Kingdom (over 4600 years ago), they are all shown as domestic mascots. Some tombs sences show cats below their owner's chair, giving the context that they were seen as beloved family animals. Cats were even found mummified close to their ownwers.
