"Native Son" is a film adaptation of Richard Wright's acclaimed novel of the same name, directed by Rashid Johnson and released in 2019. The story revolves around Bigger Thomas, a young African-American man living in Chicago, who becomes entangled in a series of tragic events.

• In "Native Son," the issues of black-white relations are depicted through the experiences and perspectives of Bigger Thomas.

• The film addresses the complex and often tense black-white relations in American society. It explores themes of racial inequality, systemic oppression, and the struggles faced by black individuals in a predominantly white society.

Since the release of the novel in 1940 and the subsequent film adaptation, black-white relations have undoubtedly evolved. While progress has been made in some areas, systemic racism and racial inequality continue to persist in various forms.

Today, there is a greater awareness and acknowledgment of the deep-rooted racial disparities that exist in society. Movements such as the civil rights movement, the Black Lives Matter movement, and ongoing activism have brought attention to the issues of racial injustice and police brutality. These movements have sparked conversations and pushed for reforms aimed at addressing systemic racism.

However, despite these efforts, there are still significant disparities in areas such as education, employment, criminal justice, and healthcare. Racial profiling, discrimination, and racial violence remain persistent challenges faced by Black individuals.
