What are your hobbies and interests?Reading books, visit Museums, traveling, Meeting new people, Cooking, but most of all good food! What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? I am trained as a nurse. Very useful when you start camping! After all, a nurse is conditioned to see what someone needs to feel better or more comfortable. After a few years I trained as a chef. I thought, have fun cooking and then we can start a restaurant at the campsite. After a year and a midlife crisis later, I started studying logical economics. Very useful, because a marketer is a generalist who stands at the center of the organization and knows/learns a bit of everything. Nowadays HRM is product development or communication. By the way, I'm a major dyslexic. Reading in primary and secondary school wasn't really my thing at the time. Now I do, but that's because I only read books that I find very interesting. How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? When you sell/make something that you really like, that you believe in. You can sell to people who could basically have been your friends, then you have to start doing it quickly. Because then you never get tired. At worst, a year has too few days! What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? As a young child I made things (paintings) that I tried to sell door to door. Or I would go out and sell things on the street with a cloth. I'm also happy to do heitje for a job. I had also already founded a nature club as a species. With a self-written magazine that I then copied on the copy machine at the library. Other children then became members of my club and paid for it. I haven't had my own nursing agency yet either. One of the first in the Netherlands. And when my husband bought the campsite, he said; "Karin, we bought a campsite" I didn't know anything about it!

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? To be honest I am at my best when there are challenges. I like business challenges, they excite me. The less pleasant challenge was to revalidate for 9 months after my anterior and inner knee ligament tore off on a skate track. I had to be picked up and brought home every day by a taxi, I hated it! Or that time when one of our five children was acutely hospitalised and needed to be in pediatric ICU for 7 days. Then the campsite is actually at a standstill, and as best as it can, it runs a bit. By the way, running a campsite is great in combination with getting/having kids. They have a place where they can always have fun and meet new friends! So working hard and at the same time feeling guilty towards my children is not something that I have experienced. For a lawyer or a wholesale employee it is different of course. Which factors have contributed to your success? Loads and loads of luck, working hard, not giving up/persevering. Being talented creatively and on an empathic level, but also using this talent. What are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe? Steer which way the company is going, decide where priorities lie, receive feedback directly from the user. If you do not like boring nor predictability, there is nothing more beautiful than having your own company. But there are plenty of downsides as well! If it is more important for you to know the amount of loan you will get each month, to know what you need to do each day and never have to work longer than expected, then you should never start own business. Then you can better find a job with an employer, that would be more fitting for you!

What are the most rewarding and the most challenging aspects of your work? The biggest thrill is and remains when I have developed something new, and people line up for it. It is challenging for me if I can't put my new ideas into reality, because of the laws and legislation or if I can't find the financial means for it. Besides, it may only be 10% of my work, but I really don't like doing the administration like e.g. the km declaration or VAT returns. How can young girls prepare themselves now for a future in entrepreneurship? From as young an age as possible, behave entrepreneurially already. Start making progress in setting up a club. Learn how to network, learn how to create, learn how to sell, learn how to collaborate. I think that when being an entrepreneur, you also need to be good in collaboration. What advice you give to a younger version of yourself? Go to a school where you learn about hospitality. In 90 percent of the companies you need it. Maybe the most underestimated skill, but you will make the differene with it. What is the name of your company? Where is it located? Camping VrijhavenCan you give a short description of your company? What it does, in which sector? Our company is Camping Vrijhaven. In 1987 we bought the campsite from the municipality. We thought that having a campsite would be fun, but also that we would do a good job running a campsite. We did have some blunders during the past years. Luckily we also have experienced quite some successes. Some were very obvious such as entering the German market or digitising. We have also taken a lot of unusual steps, such as an eight-person circular house with beds for eight people or the development of a No Waste closet in which our guests can put products they want to get rid of, but which can still be used by someone else, such as a half-full bottle of washing-up liquid. Our dream is to We dream of developing the campsite in such a way that, thanks to the campsite, the world becomes more beautiful, cleaner, better! Unfortunately we still have a negative impact in that matter.

What are your hobbies and interests? My farm life, with all the animals. Working on our home, Enjoying freedom with the camper, enjoying a good book with a class of wine. I enjoy my work everyday, as it is one of my hobbies. What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? Vet entrpreneurial education. We used to need it, until the year I graduated. I am not very happy with the education as we know it. Of course, it is important to know your basics, but entrepreneurship is something you have in you or you don’t. If you have it in you then you will learn everything you need along the way. You learn from your successes and even more from the setbacks. In my opinion you have to maintain lifelong learning, but I only want to learn from the people who are successful in areas in which I want to be successful. If I learn from them, I save time in conquering setbacks as they have already done that and with learning from them, I can skip the conquering. So keep learning from the people you look up to and keep your flame lit.How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? I would not want anything else. My keyword is freedom. This is what I get from entrepreneurship. Is the entrepreneurial ride always easy? No. However, if you will keep it fun, it will not become a struggle and you will enjoy that ride. I am also a mom and thanks to being an entrepreneur I was always able to be there for my children. The best decision ever. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? My father was a entrepreneur all his life. If I think about I always wanted to be an entrepreneur, but yeah at 19 I did not realise.I also worked that as a store manager in a clothing shop and I loved being able to practice my hobby: photography. Back in the days we had Hyves (a Dutch social media platform from the early years of 2000) and I posted there regularly. Sometimes people came to me and asked whether I wanted to make pictures of their children. So I ironed a white cloth and set it up with books to a closet. I put two lamps on the side and a studio in my own living room became a reality. It was not convinient, so soon there was a shed next to our house. So I have grown into it without studying photography, but by a lot of self development.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? Covid and a burn-out. Covid was intense. The buffer was flowing through. The uncertainty was immense. People would not visit as the hairdressers were closed. Burnout was caused mainly by Covid. The advise was to stay at home, but I felt nothing for it. I also could not do it because my financial buffer was through and the anti-Covid measurements allowed me to work again. So I got help from a business coach, which did a really great job in the photography industry. It was a one year course, which was quite expensive. I have said to this coach that I needed her help, but that I could only pay her for one month. In one month she could “lit the fire” in my business and I could earn money again. Which factors have contributed to your success? My persveranceMy enthousiasmMy self deploymentWhat are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe? Freedom on all aspects.

What are the most rewarding and the most challenging aspects of your work? That women realise how beautifull and powerful they are. Also, working with women also remains a challenge especially if they have a negative self-image How can young girls prepare themselves now for a future in entrepreneurship?Have a look at where you get your energy from. What can't you stop talking about? What makes your eyes shine? Elaborate on that.Create an objective and go for it. Look forward and dream of the moment that you will achieve your goals. I definitely set financial goals. For example I would like to have an amazing holiday, so if I reach a certain financial goal, I will do that. Or I will buy a house that I want. You need to attach an emotion to a financial goal. What advice you give to a younger version of yourself? Well, not an advice, as I am proud of what I have achieved. Maybe the advice to maintain your "flame", which motivates you to do what you do. What is the name of your company? Where is it located? Likephotos Photography IdaardCan you give a short description of your company? What it does, in which sector? Likephotos has grown from a small living room studio into a large in house studio. I have started 10 years ago as a family and children photographer and after that I did a lot of different things within the photography field. It could be school pictures, but also wedding pictures. However, I was not very motivated However, I noticed that my spark was not there and I changed direction. I completely focused on the woman. The goal is... To empower the women and make them feel beautiful again. That they feel the self love and will be able to reach anything they want. I do that with the empowerment photo shoot and the boudoir shoot.

What are your hobbies and interests?Working, Swimming, Volleybal, Walking with our dog, reading, going to the movies (in the relaxed seats), eating out or having drinks with friends. What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? I started with a VET education in Fashion and design in Zwolle, after I studied Small Business and Retail at the NHL stenden. Both studies have brought me the knowledge and skills from which I still benefit on a daily basis. During my fashion studies I have learnt to work with graphic programmes, which I use daily during some periods. Especially when customers (companies) want personalised gifts. With the knowledge and skills I have earned in regards to these programmes, I can make personalised gifts. During my studies at the NHL-Stenden I have learnt a lot about entrepreneurship, but I don't have the specific knowledge anymore. It is often that I know that there is a method to build a collection for example, but then I have to Google what this method was exactly. Then it will ring a bell and I can proceed with my entrepreneurial activities. How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? My experience as an entrepreneur is that you have to persevere. In my company this is even more than in a 'standard' company. With Loofys we do something that is not often done. We develop and sell plastic-free care products. So this means that we have to introduce new products to the market, but also that we have to be creative in the development of packaging, for example. So from time to time I find entrepreneurship a complicated puzzle. I also see many opportunities in terms of sales, so we are currently active in hotel soaps, promotional gifts, Christmas gifts and consumer sales both online and in physical stores. I like to think of entrepreneurship as a high-level sport, especially on a mental level; it is 1 big puzzle where you are constantly putting new pieces together. Sometimes the puzzle piece fit and sometimes you need to find another way to make it fit. The advantage is that you decide yourself how big the puzzle will becomeWhat inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? The thing that inspired me most as entrepreneur is that I was absolutely disagreeing with how the market worked. I wanted to actively change something about this. I was looking for the right products that would meet my demands. After that I was creating my own style/branding that according to me would also be a great fit for the current market. Then I started to sell these products on local markets and with that money I have built a webshop myself. Little by little, I have built this up to the webshop it is today.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? Yes, I have come accross a lot of obstacles. I have had little to no money, little to no knowledge for the development of a webshop, little to no knowledge of suppliers and little to no knowledge of relevant laws and legislation. What I want to say here, is that I have started my business on a quite idealistic foot.So I ran into obstacles quite often in the first few years; especially the money piece. My tactics were to do everything myself, so I have learnt a lot of things in order to do everything myself. That way I could make steps forward and the advantage I got this way was that I have developed myself in a lot of different fields. Which factors have contributed to your success? Conversations with friends and family, the network I gained around me with other entrepreneurs, my stubbornness and perseverance. What are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe? Freedom. I can decide myself what I will do on a daily basis, I can decide my own schedule and with whom to work, etc. That freedom is amazing. That does not mean that I don’t have any obligations, but because I am in control of so many things, it does feel that way.

What are the most rewarding and the most challenging aspects of your work? You will have to pay quite abit of learning money. Often you learn if something works through doing, or you make a wrong estimate. Which cause to a order you cannot use nor sell. The challenging thing about being an entrepreneur, is that you run into matters where you are not good at. Because after all, especially as a single-owner business, you are often on your own. In the later stage of having a business, it is easier, as you surround yourself with people that can help you with certain tasks, but at the beginning, being a sole owner was quite a challenge for me.How can young girls prepare themselves now for a future in entrepreneurship?I think that every idea or product can be successful, it’s all about the person who makes it a success. Thus, believing in yourself is important and the qualities like being stubborn and perseverant will help with that. And don't mind too much the other (male) entrepreneurs around you who pretend that everything is going well for them and that nothing is difficult. My experience is that this is not the case; they are only better in keeping up appearances. What advice you give to a younger version of yourself? Making mistakes and handling things clumsily is also part of a working day and there is no need to be ashamed of that. What is the name of your company? Where is it located? Loofys in LeeuwardenCan you give a short description of your company? What it does, in which sector? In een badkamer, hoort geen plastic thuis. The bathroom is a place where there should be no plastics. We believe that taking care of yourself AND the planet should be simple. Loofys develops and sells amazing and honest care products for daily use. By using Loofys products you not only enjoy the products yourself, you are also doing something great for the planet. All that without the use of plastics.

What are your hobbies and interests?I love cinema and photography, as well as enjoying a vermouth in the sun on a terrace. What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? I studied a double degree in Journalism and Advertising, although I didn't get my degree. I spent my time at university working precariously, and all the jobs I had taught me much more than my professors did.How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? It's not easy to start a business, especially when you don't have a team to divide tasks with. It is gratifying to see my projects come to fruition and the feedback from clients, but achieving financial stability is very complicated. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? Almost everyone I have worked for has inspired me to become an entrepreneur. Seeing how people with zero qualifications made money by exploiting interns and offering precarious contracts or the moment when my boss cut his nails while he was in an important meeting with me made me think that I would be better off being my own boss.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? Getting my clients to understand the complexity of my work has cost me a lot, as most of them were not willing to pay my fees and I always had to reduce the budgets. They always end up asking for extras not included and hoping not to be charged for them. I have had to squeeze and explain much of my work to all of them so that they realise what they have paid for and what they have not. People are very stingy when you work with intangibles.Which factors have contributed to your success? So far I have not achieved the success I am looking for, as it is a complicated path. However, the satisfaction of my clients has led to word of mouth and new projects have come to me through recommendations. What are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe? Organising my schedule and how I reconcile my work and social life is the biggest plus point. For me, being able to work at home comfortably is a luxury. Also because I am lucky enough to have a room/office in which to work, I am aware that for those entrepreneurs whose office is the dining room table at home, working at home is not so romantic.

What are your hobbies and interests?Fashion, photography, cinema and travelling. What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey?Baccalaureate, taught at I.E.S. Benlliure in Valencia. Honours in Baccalaureate. IGraduate in Journalism from the University of Valencia (BOE 26.02.2010). ERASMUS nine months in Tournai (Belgium) at the HELHA School of Communication. Master's Degree in Fashion and Beauty Communication VOGUE by the Carlos III University of Madrid (2012-December 2013). Winner of the scholarship awarded by the Jesús del Pozo Foundation for the best academic record in the Master in Fashion and Beauty Communication VOGUE (8th edition). My training has been the key to knowing what I wanted to do in my life and what I wanted to do in my job. Once I knew that I wanted to be a journalist and communicator, the master's degree was vital to be able to specialise in fashion and lifestyle, and to have a deeper vision of what would later become my professional career. Although, without a doubt, the curricular and extracurricular internships were the best experiences to get to know first-hand how the media, agencies and fashion brands worked and what gave me a global vision of the sector. How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why?I have been self-employed since November 2019, I made this decision because I wanted to be independent and to be able to cover all the facets that I like in this job. Now I am the one who decides with whom, how and when I can work and I am not pigeonholed into just one job. My experience from the beginning has been very positive, but I am aware that this is also due to the experience and networking I have done throughout my working life.

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started?I always wanted to write and combining my job in public relations with my work as a journalist was always complicated. Being independent was the way to be able to work on everything I liked and also to have more control in the way I work: not only to choose only the projects that really bring me value and inspire me, but also to travel more. What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? The biggest challenge I would say has been knowing how to say "no" and not being afraid of uncertainty, knowing that you are a good worker and that you can afford to say no to projects that don't bring you in. Keeping a routine and being disciplined outside the office context is still my main challenge.Which factors have contributed to your success? Above all, the experience and networking I have done throughout my working life. Deciding to start a business when I had already established a professional base and a large database of contacts has been key to getting new projects and collaborations, having enough confidence and making your previous work your best letter of introduction. What are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe? The main advantage is the freedom and independence you have, getting to design the work model you have always wanted to have, and looking after yourself in a way that a boss or a company would never do.

What are your hobbies and interests?I love cinema! I can't go a month without seeing at least a couple of films on the big screen. What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? I studied Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation (English) at the University of Valencia and then specialised in audiovisual translation through the Master's Degree in Audiovisual Translation: Localisation, Subtitling and Dubbing at ISTRAD. In addition, I have done some courses related to digital communication.Without this training, it would be impossible for me to have the necessary skills to carry out my work. Knowing a couple of languages is not enough, there is a theoretical basis and a lot of practice behind it to be able to work as a professional. How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? I cannot answer this question yet, as I am still in a learning phase. However, everything I am learning now will help me when I decide to become an entrepreneur in the future. On the other hand, I imagine that being an entrepreneur will also mean learning and learning along the way, with a lot of patience and an open mind! What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? My profession is full of entrepreneurs. What's more, there are very few cases of people in the translation sector who don't choose to be entrepreneurs. So I would say that my inspiration comes from my colleagues in the profession - and my mother, of course! She has her own hairdressing salon and there is no better self-taught entrepreneur than her.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? I would say that some of the main challenges I will face will be finding clients and creating a personal brand that differentiates me from the rest. The latter will largely be solved with advice from someone who knows marketing, but the former, like sport: consistency, persistence and a lot of patience.Which factors have contributed to your success? I can't say I've been successful yet exactly, but I refer you to the previous answer. What are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe? Apart from your clientele, I imagine that not being dependent on anyone and not having anyone depend on you must be one of the main advantages. At the same time, I also see this as a disadvantage, as all the responsibility for your work falls on you. Also, I suppose I would miss working in a team from time to time and having more direct feedback from colleagues.

At the same time, every project I am working on at the moment teaches me something new and everything I learn I write down for future projects. How can young girls prepare themselves now for a future in entrepreneurship? It may be repetitive, but training is the key. Without training you don't have the theoretical basis on which to work and build your "entrepreneurial future". Then comes practice, and from practice you learn more than anything else, so always carry a pencil and paper everywhere you go (mobile phone notes are also useful)!¿Qué factores han contribuido a su éxito?Don't despair or lose patience, that will only make you go grey before your time. Everything will come.Oh, and keep studying French! What is the name of your company? Where is it located? What are your hobbies and interests?Travels, getting to know new places and cultures, sailing, the sea, photography, skiing...What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? I graduated from the Faculty of Maritime Affairs, majoring in transport technology, and received my master's and doctorate degrees from the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka in the field of management. For years, I trained all over the world, including Harvard Business School, in the field of creating entrepreneurial universities. Formal education helped me realize my wishes and dreams to start the first private study in the city of Rijeka back in 2007, when many did not know much about it. Today, I am still the only female owner of a private polytechnic in the Republic of Croatia, which would not have been possible without previous education, persistence, vision and work. I was elected to the European network of women ambassadors of entrepreneurship and was a scholarship recipient of the Israeli government and UNECE in the program of support for women entrepreneurs in South-East Europe (Support Systems for Women Entrepreneurs in South-East Europe). Due to my entrepreneurial journey, I was included in the book "100 Croatian Leaders", in which I presented important events that I believe marked my path to success. How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? Entrepreneurship brings many struggles, ups and downs, but I can say that my experience is positive. Using my own example, I showed that everything is possible when you want it hard enough and have your own vision and goal. In 2014, I was elected WED ambassador for Croatia as part of a global initiative. Among the more significant world recognitions, I can highlight the "Exceptional Women of Excellence 2018" award at the World Women Economic Forum, and that in the same year, she was also elected as a high-ranking official of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), and in 2019 held the position of Vice President Global of the Women Leaders Committee, which brings together women in the worldwide network of business angels. At the end of 2022, at the Women Economic Forum in New Delhi, I received the "Woman of the Decade" award and an honorary doctorate from one of the most prestigious Indian universities, which confirmed my international recognition in empowering women and encouraging academic excellence. As a global leader within the G100 network, which is an eminent club of 100 world women leaders in 100 sectors, and includes Nobel Prize winners, former heads of state, ministers, business women, philanthropists, investors, entrepreneurs, corporate and social leaders, I lead the higher education sector .What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? I have a Dream... This is my story and I had nothing but dreams and imagination in the beginning. As a child of the working class, I knew that only with my work and persistence I could create something more in life.I spent part of my career in scientific fields, at state and private higher education institutions. I wanted more than what those institutions offered me, and that was one of the reasons that prompted me to found PAR. I borrowed the first money to open a company from my late uncle and set out to realize my dreams...I was pure proof that when you move towards a goal, the goal somehow comes to you. So in my stories, I ran into a woman to whom I told my wishes over a completely random coffee, she put me in touch with another woman, and she offered me to teach at a German university. There, I immediately said that I wanted to open a private studio in Rijeka, and after several months of working with them, the dean approached me and said, if you want, we will support you in your idea... Everything else is now history...

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? If you want to be an entrepreneur in Croatia, a whole series of factors can discourage you. Small and medium-sized companies are faced with the problem of excessive payments to the state, insufficient capital, especially in the initial phase, etc. You need to be a little crazy and brave to start, but you need to believe in yourself... I believe that I even knew some things in advance, they wouldn't be able to dissuade me from the idea of going. I believe that challenges exist to be solved on the fly.. It's simply life, as you grow you learn some new things and learn how to deal with them..Which factors have contributed to your success? I simply had a vision and a desire to make some positive change. To create an institution that will employ young and promising people and educate young people for the labor market. After many years of experience and work in state and private institutions, private and state companies, working as a professor and manager, and with numerous inconveniences and misfortunes that affected both my business and private life, I realized that nothing in life is more important than health , safety and happiness of those closest to you. I was educated outside the borders of Croatia, taught at other higher education private institutions and accumulated a certain amount of experience, both in life and in business. All this motivated me to say one day - I will open my private studio in Rijeka! I remember that moment and that decision like it was yesterday. Even today, I am extremely proud of the "me" of that time! First, I started the Rijeka Business Academy, which to this day offers a number of high-quality educations in the field of management and business, and a few years after that, the PAR Polytechnic, the first, as the only private higher education institution in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. What are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe? The greatest advantage is freedom and the invaluable return feeling of the so-called feedback when you do something well. The most beautiful side of the road to success is getting to know yourself and getting to know others. Knowing yourself means understanding what makes you happy. My success is the result of my dedicated work. I am immensely fulfilled by teaching people, especially young people, my students. I am happy with their every progress and every success, because every success is my success.

What are the most rewarding and the most challenging aspects of your work? I spent part of my career in scientific fields, at state and private higher education institutions. I wanted more than what those institutions offered me, and that was one of the reasons that prompted me to found PAR. The most challenging is the responsibility we have assumed as an educational institution and our social responsibility, which I perceive as a key value. As a professor in the education process, I have to transfer knowledge and certain life values to my students, and as a dean and manager, the same to my employees. In today's turbulent and crisis times, the challenge is the everyday life in which you fight are the bureaucracies of the society we live in, the inequality of relations towards private and state educational institutions, which put you in a situation where you have to fight and prove yourself forever... But this also strengthens you brings new successes at the same time. How can young girls prepare themselves now for a future in entrepreneurship?I keep repeating to young people that their whole life is the acquisition of new knowledge. Even though I have a doctorate, I am constantly looking for new knowledge, I go to education in the country and abroad because knowledge is not static. Either you are curious and have a constant desire to learn, or you find yourself facing a wall. Entrepreneurship is a train that does not stop, you either catch it or you fall off... Certain entrepreneurial characteristics are innate, but these skills need to be constantly improved. Only by constantly working on yourself can you remain a competitor.

What are your hobbies and interests?Doing ceramics, reading, studyingWhat is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? After graduating from the First Rijeka High School, I graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka, major: International Exchange. I subsequently completed postgraduate specialist studies at the Faculty of Economics and Tourism in Pula, major: Human Resources Management and Knowledge SocietyMy formal education, since it is mostly related to economics, helped me in starting and developing a business, but it was not crucial. The concept of organizing my own company was a little closer to me than to people who do not have previous knowledge of accounting, marketing, strategic planning, market circumstances, etc., but the choice of activities I am engaged in is the result of my personal aspirations and recognition of opportunities. How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? Positive and exciting. I deal with different activities that have specific challenges. The experience in entrepreneurship enabled me to develop a broader picture not only of business but also of society as a whole, in business and private life. I am learning to prioritize information every day in order to make better decisions. Entrepreneurship brings a certain freedom, but also responsibility for one's own future and the future of the colleagues I work with. Doing business in a certain way allows me to control my own life. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? I worked for years in managerial positions in an international company, and after the accumulated experience I decided to start my own company, and later a trade. I used funds for self-employment that enabled me to cover the necessary expenses for the first year of business. During that time, the work started and it became easier.

What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? Access to quality clients is probably one of the more significant challenges. Responsibility and dedication to the work I do has brought me recommendations from existing clients. I think referrals are the best promotion and the biggest capital I could get. At first I took all the offers, but when I gained a good base, I started turning down clients who didn't suit me.Which factors have contributed to your success? Not giving up when obstacles appear, constantly learning to recognize upcoming changes and reacting to them in a timely manner. The awareness that every job brings risk helped me develop resistance to it, i.e. willingness to take risks and responsibilities. I always think in terms of creating a plan BWhat are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe? Entrepreneurship gives a certain freedom that you can organize your work when it suits you and the feeling that you are in control of your own life. What are the most rewarding and the most challenging aspects of your work?A satisfied client is my greatest reward, then the possibility to deal with different activities and projects is also a big motive for doing business, and of course, there is the material reward as an important element of why I work. I consider the biggest challenge to be determining the right price for my work, especially when I'm working on a new project.

How can young girls prepare themselves now for a future in entrepreneurship? At a conference I attended while I was still employed, my colleague introduced me to an experienced entrepreneur as a capable and perspective manager. That lady told me: "It's good for you to have a successful career, but do something of your own, some small business of your own on the side so that you don't depend on the salary." This is the advice I would give to all young people, to develop their own small business project, maybe it is giving instructions, babysitting, making jewelry or pursuing a hobby that at some point can grow into your own business. Let them experiment, look for what they are good at and what gives them pleasure to do, and let them not be afraid of the mistakes they will make along the way. Through mistakes, they will learn and become better. What advice you give to a younger version of yourself? I often stare at the tree, lose sight of the forest, so one of the tips would surely be: look at the bigger picture and don't bother with the details! What is the name of your company? What are your hobbies and interests?Doing nice things with my family or wachtching films or movies. What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? I did leisure management at the NHL stenden. I was not thinking about becoming an entrepreneur, I just like to oragnise things. I became entrepreneur because I wanted to organise events and could not do it as an employee. How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? It gives you a lot of freedom, which can become an issue. Everything is fun and my agenda steers my life. I really like my job, but I am not a real entrepreneur, as I am not that business savvy. That is also the part of the entrepreneurship I like the least, doing administration, etc. What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? I really enjoyed organizing events. But there were almost no more agencies willing to accept people even though there was work. When I finally put on my sturdy shoes, I started my own business so that I could do the work I wanted to do.Events are very project-based in general. And the crowds may vary greatly throughout the year. That is why there are few agencies and many self-employed people.

What are your hobbies and interests? My hobbies are volunteering (I am a storyteller to sick children at the Pula General Hospital), and trail running. I am also a lover of art and travelling. What is your educational background? How important was this formal education been in your entrepreneurial journey? I graduated from the Faculty of Graphics, after which I completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Zagreb, and postgraduate studies in economics at the Dr Mijo Mirković Faculty of Economics and Tourism, Jurja Dobrila University in Pula.In addition, I am a certified accountant and, as a member of the accountants' section, a member of the supervisory board of the Association of Craftsmen in Pula.I am a certified wingwave and neurolinguistic coach.I am a big supporter of lifelong education and I am continuously in the process of learning, currently attending the NLP master's education. How has been your experience as an entrepreneur? Positive? Why? My experience as an entrepreneur has been extremely positive since I started as a great connoisseur of market opportunities. Before that, I worked as a manager in various companies and gained a lot of business experience. I transferred the same to my own company, knowing the good and bad sides of entrepreneurship.Entrepreneurship has enabled my freedom and creativity in business, and I have successfully overcome the challenges I have encountered so far (economic, organisational and all others) with my knowledge and abilities, at the same time with the support I have in the business women's association BPW, the first Croatian club in Pula.I emphasize this because I believe that networking, mentoring and support are extremely important components in the business journey of female entrepreneurs, and as the vice president of the business women's club, I work to lobby and promote these values.

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur? How you started? After many years of managerial experience in companies in Zagreb and Pula, I decided to found my own company for several reasons. It is certainly essential to spot business opportunities on the market, but an equally important reason is the desire for independence. Also, the balance between private and business life is what allows me to have my business entity. This is a great value for me and one of the basic motivators for starting an entrepreneurial venture. What were some of the biggest challenges you faced in your journey, and how did you overcome them? The challenges I faced along the way are typical for female entrepreneurs:- obstacles of an economic nature, i.e. the availability of financing sources for the establishment of a company and for the financing of business projects, which I overcame using non-reimbursable grants from the CES, the City of Pula and the County of Istria- obstacles of an organizational nature, i.e. finding, choosing and coordinating associates, which I overcame with knowledge in the field of human resources management and with the help of mentoring from colleagues in the business women's club- structural obstacles, i.e. regulatory challenges and challenges of insufficient support, for example in the form of too short kindergarten working hours, which I overcame with the selfless help of my colleagues and family.Which factors have contributed to your success? The factors that have contributed to my business success are certainly great knowledge and experience gained through formal and informal education and many years of practice. In addition, an important factor is the support I had in the club of business women and the network of acquaintances, that is, networking. Also, I consider my qualities such as curiosity, perseverance, great persistence in work, work ethic, focus on people and personal integrity to be important factors. What are the advantages of being entrepreneur, you believe?I consider my greatest advantage to be my freedom. The freedom to choose projects on the market that I will work on, the freedom to decide with whom and when I will work, the freedom to manage my own finances and time.

What are the most rewarding and the most challenging aspects of your work?I am most fulfilled by working with young people and the possibility of passing on knowledge and acquired experiences. Also, I am very happy and fulfilled knowing that I have helped novice entrepreneurs, as well as more experienced ones, in shaping their business entities. I consider some of my greatest successes, apart from the large projects I worked on as a consultant, to be the fact that now a respectable number of businesses and trades in the area of Pula and Istria County, mostly young entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs, have been founded through my direct engagement as a consultant and mentor. The biggest challenges are reflected in bureaucratic obstacles, and continuous changes in legislation that create barriers for entrepreneurs, especially in the area of accounting. Since many entrepreneurs expect my support and advice in this area, monitoring constant changes creates additional, in my opinion, completely unnecessary stress. How can young girls prepare themselves now for a future in entrepreneurship?I believe that young girls can be prepared for the future in entrepreneurship primarily by empowering them and creating an entrepreneurial mentality. Belief in one's abilities, developing a conceptual way of thinking and spotting business opportunities, determination, persistence, etc., are fundamental prerequisites for success in entrepreneurship. I can say from experience that, unfortunately, the environment and gender stereotypes are not inclined to support women in starting entrepreneurial ventures, and this is certainly one of the perspectives that I want to change through my work and involvement. What advice you give to a younger version of yourself? Believe in yourself, because only the sky is the limit!

Which factors have contributed to your success?

Positief? Waarom?Ik zou niet anders willen. Mijn hoofd kernwoord is vrijheid. Mijn vader is altijd ondermer geweest.

Corona was zwaar.

What is the name of your company? Where is it located? Likephotos Photography IdaardCan you give a short description of your company? What it does, in which sector? Doel is...

Inzicht in inkomsten/uitgaven.

Pozitivno? Zašto?Pozitivno i uzbudljivo.

Kroz greške će učiti i postajati bolje. LiCe – obrazovanje u kulturi: održavanje likovnih radionica: keramika, slikarstvo, kiparstvoA2R d.o.o. – poslovno savjetovanje: izrada poslovnih planova, studija, podrška u pokretanju poslovanja

Koji su vaši hobiji i interesi?Putovanja, upoznavanje novih mjesta i kultura, jedrenje, more, fotografija, skijanje..Koje je vaše obrazovno zaleđe?

Kako ste započeli?I have a dream...

Sve to me motiviralo da jednog dana kažem – otvoriti ću svoj privatni studij u Rijeci! Neizmjerno me ispunjava podučavanje ljudi, pogotovo mladih osoba, mojih studenata. Veseli me svaki njihov napredak i svaki njihov uspjeh, jer svaki njihov uspjeh je i moj uspjeh.

No to Vas osnažuje i donosi u isto vrijeme nove uspjehe. I sama, iako imam doktorsku titulu, konstantno tražim nove spoznaje, odlazim na edukacije u zemlji i inozemstvu jer znanje nije statično.

Certificirani sam wingwave i neurolingvistički coach. Velika sam pobornica cjeloživotnog obrazovanja te sam kontinuirano u procesu učenja, trenutno polaznica NLP master edukacije.Kakvo je bilo vaše iskustvo kao poduzetnice? Pozitivno?

Najviše me ispunjava rad s mladima i mogućnost prenošenja znanja i stečenih iskustava. Vjera u vlastite sposobnosti, razvijanje konceptualnog načina razmišljanja i uočavanje poslovnih prilika, odlučnost, upornost i sl, temeljne su pretpostavke uspješnosti u poduzetništvo.
