Introdution

We hereby came to do work that was suggested by teacher Catarina Vieira within the scope of the English subject. This work aims to increase knowledge about each topic presented in the work.

Gastronomy

• The United States has a diverse cuisine due to global immigration, resulting in a mix of culinary influences from different countries, with a wide variety of ingredients and flavors.
• In the United States, iconic dishes are hamburgers, hot dogs, pizzas, barbecue ribs, apple pies, doughnuts, and burritos, often associated with convenience and generous portions.

Gastronomy - USA

• British cuisine has traditionally relied on ingredients such as lamb, beef, saltwater fish, potatoes, carrots, cabbage and beets, with typical dishes such as fish and chips and roast dinner.
• In British cuisine, iconic dishes include full English breakfast, Sunday roast, shepherd's pie, and bangers and mash.

• Some words in American Vocabulary it's diferent to British Vocabulary.

Costums/ Traditions

1. Monarchy- Events such as Trooping the Color and the Queen's Jubilee are celebrated with great pomp.
2. Afternoon tea - takes place between 3pm and 5pm and includes tea, sandwiches, cakes and sweets
3. Traditional Music- Folk music, marching bands and choirs are important components of British celebrations and festivities.

1. Thanksgiving -Celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, it is a day to give thanks for the blessings of the year
2. Independence Day- Celebrated on July 4th, it marks the independence of the United States.
3. Halloween- On October 31st, people dress up and go out asking for sweets.

1. Bigfoot-It is a legendary creature often associated with the forests of the Pacific Northwest, considered a large, hairy humanoid.
2. The Blair Witch- The story involves the mysterious disappearance of people in a forest haunted by a witch
3. Legend of Sleepy Hollow- The story features the Headless Horseman, who haunts the town of Sleepy Hollow.

1. King Arthur- Arthur is portrayed as a king who led the defense of Britain against invaders in the 5th century
2. Loch Ness Monster- A mysterious creature is said to inhabit the depths of the lake.
3. Jack the Ripper-Jack became a legend shrouded in mystery and conspiracies in Whitechapel, London, in 1888.

Currency

The US currency is the American Dollar or Buck, the symbol is $ or US$, in euros it is equivalent to 0.92€ The UK currency is the UK Pound or Pound Sterling, the simbol is £, in euros it is equivalent to 1.14€

Conclusion

In conclusion, we had great pleasure in carrying out this work, as our objective as students is the maximum grade, 20 points. With this work we were able to develop several skills, such as searching for information and increasing knowledge. We enriched our qualities in a new theme, and we hope to reach a very good level and surprise the who we owe.
