King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table is the legend one of England's most famous and most beloved kings. Although there is no direct evidence to prove his existence, the folklore surrounding his life is extensive.

King Arthur's stories actually make up their own genre in Medieval literature called Arthurian Legend or Arthurian Romance. A number of stories, composed and told over nearly 1,000 years, all establish the life, deeds, friends, family, and struggles of Arthur.

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table

The main setting of this book was King Arthur's castle in Camelot, England.Camelot was a mythical castled city, said to be located in Great Britain, where King Arthur held court. It was the center of the Kingdom of Logres and in Arthurian legend would become the location of the round table that held 150 knights.

Setting

This book has the theme of love, traitors and heroism. The love of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere. Traitor because many want their throne. The heroism is King Arthur taking Camelot back and defending it for such a time.

Plot

The story begins when King Uther, Arthur's father, decides to give his son to Merlin in exchange for marrying Igraine. Merlin gave Arthur to a good Knight, his name is Sir Ector.

A short time after this happened King Uther did not get better. He called for Merlin because he wanted to talk about the future of his country. King Uther told all the knights that the next king would be his son. but a lot of people wanted to be king, it generated a big fight.

When Arthur was young. Merlin went to London. He visited the Archbishop, the most important man in the Church. he called the knights to London, then issued a challenge to find the new King, a sword embedded in a stone read "ONLY THE KING CAN TAKE SWORD FROM THE STONE"

Arthur, pulls the sword from of the stone. This act proves that he is the rightful king of England. Arthur is crowned king and Merlin becomes one of his most valuable advisers

One day Arthur decided to go horseback riding and ended up getting lost in the forest, when trying to leave, he comes across a castle and meets Queen Annoure who wanted to take Camelot, but Arthur didn't know.

Arthur tells Merlin that his sword has broken. Merlin takes Arthur to the magical lake in Avalon and orders Arthur to enter the water and soon he sees something very shiny, it was his sword Excalibur. The Lady of the lake made for Arthur.
