Taking Band or Chorus in middle and high school is a great way to make lasting friends and lasting memories. The groups travel frequently and perform in interesting locations. I was able to see parts of the U.S. and perform in locations that I would never have been able to had I not been a member of the Chorus. Other music facts about my family:
  • Both of my children and my son-in-law are musicians, too!
  • My son and daughter were in Band during middle and high school.
  • My son is a drummer and plays in several bands in the Richmond area.
  • My daughter plays flute and guitar.
  • My daughter met her husband while in the marching band at JMU.
  • My son-in-law teaches Band at a school in Charlottesville.
  • My husband listens to a LOT of music!

Testimonials

"My time in the choir in high school and in singing groups in college, after college and church have taught me a lot. I learned how to breathe properly when singing, it strengthened the feeling of togetherness with those in the choir, and boosted my confidence." ---Ms. Finney
