Mutations and their real world applications.

-A mutation is a change in the DNA sequence of an organisms genome.-Mutations can occur for several reasons and can cause a change in the phenotype of the organism. -Some mutations can be caused by the addition, deletion or substitution of a base.

What is mutation?

“Drug Resistance.” Wikipedia, Wikimedia Foundation, 28 Sept. 2022, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_resistance.

-Antibiotic resistance by some bacteria. -This is mainly due to the survival of some bacteria once these have been exposed to certain antibiotics.

Example of mutation:

"If we didn't have genetic mutations, we would't have us. You need error to open the door to the adjacent possible" -Steven Johnson
