William Shakespeare in a nutshell
Died in 1616
He used a language all his own, powerful and poetic with many metaphors
In addition to his dramatic works, Shakespeare also wrote lyric and epic poetry (presumably when London's theaters were forced to close temporarily because of the plague epidemics).
His plays contained several interlocking plots, twists, and confusions, so there was something for everyone in the audience.
He began his career as an actor and writer as a member of the acting group ''Lord Chamberlain's Company'', which later became ''Kings's Company''.
Among his most famous plays were: "Romeo and Juliet", "Julius Caesar", "Hamlet", "King Lear" and "Macbeth", which are still played all over the world.
At the age of 18, he married probably Anne Hathaway
