Since we need to have proof of the topics / contents presented, that is why we need testing, however, this does not mean that if a student fails, it does not measure knowledge. It is important that assessment needs to be made first (provide feedback and suggestions) before testing a student

To interact with students in order to comprehend what contents they learned but also to do it on a descriptive and natural way. Identify areas of improvement and take an active role to ensure the student's learning path will be enhanced.

There are different types of evaluation from diagnostic to check a student's level to being summative and formative which means we can run a test at the end of each content (summative) or to review the content learned after finishing a course and to gather an overall look at the information provided

  • It is crucial to set clear that this step needs to be in a way where students can feel actually engaged and motivated to be better, if this is not done properly, we could stop their good will

Since our objective as educators is to ensure that learning is followed and performed, we need to understand what things can get better to ensure students will have a better performance. Assessment involves gathering information about what learners learned but also what type of changes need to be made to improve their progress.

What is assessment then?

  • Assessment includes different strategies wich is the approach we set, the techniques that are the techniques to follow and the tools to be used to complete these steps.

Testing is the process of measuring the level of knowledge and topics acquired by the students. This is done by quizzed and tests.However, it is important to point out that this is not the way how can fully estimate if a student has reached the competencies, in teaching, assessment includes other factors

There are three ways how assessment can be different:One, by making a peer assessment, which involves having another classmate to help his peer to review their work and provide any feedback needed to provide better results . Two, by letting to have a sekf-assessment, this means you need to meditate how good you worked during class and provide highs and lows for improvements but also creating teams to provide particular activities for students to work together and collaborate on their learning
