At the time of the war there was an influensa and a Spanish Flu pandemic. In order not to diminish moral, the government pushed down information about the flu and the death toll, cotributing to its severity. Because of how deadly the disease was, and the flaws in American responce, the influenza was responible for killing more American soliders than the enemy did.
The German U-boats sunk a civilain boat. This killed 1,959 people, 123 of which who were Americans. This helped sway public opinion into pro-war sentiments, and devlop anti-German ideology.
This act made it illegal to "interfere with the war effort", such as protesting the draft. The act allowed up to 20 years in jail, or 30 years and even death in wartime.
The selective service act was an American draft. It caused millions of men to be drafted. Failure to register for the draft was punished with up to 5 years in jail and up to a 250,000 fine.
On November 11, 1918 there was an armistice, an agreement to stop fighting. It was negotiated in the Forest of Compiegne.

The United States announces its decision to enter the war. President Wilson gave his famous speech saying America needed to be a "champion for mankind".

President Wilson gave a speech reguarding the future after the war, and what it should entail. The points were directed towards ensuring peace and that a war like World War 1 would never happen again, at that time it was called the Great War because they didn't antipate a war like that happening again 20 years later.

A telegram that was intercepted from the Germans to Mexico. It offered Mexico territory from the United States if they joined the war on the German side. This also influenced public opinon on the war, because now the German's were specifically targeting Americans and the United States itself.

The Russian working class rebelled against the Tsar Nicholas II because how they were being used as fodder in the war and the generally terrible living conditions, creating the communist Soviet Union. This worried the American Government because they thought it might inspire Americans to do the same.
The treaty of versailles was the formal peace treaty between Germany and the allied powers. It also was disproportionately in favor of the allies, crippled Germany's economy, and ending up being one of the causes of World War Two.

The commitee released propaganda to influence American opinion and was the frontlines of the American homefront. They would release anti-German propaganda in the news and have memebers and connections give four-minute pro-war speeches in public places. This help devolp American support for the war.
The League of Nations was first created in the Treaty of Versailles. It was designed to be an orginization to promote and protect peace. However, despite intiatial support, the United States of America never joined the League of Nations and it ended in 1946 when it was replaced by the United Nations after failing to prevent World War Two.

This was the largest American undertaking in world war 1, with 26,000 American deaths. It played a pivitol role in the war because it was a part of the final drive and battles against the Germans.
The sedition act expanded the espionage act, and made it illegal for Americans to critize about the government or America. It had the same punishments as the espionage act, up to 30 years or even death during wartime.
