Equity Matters employs an arc of programming tailored to a school's needs to guide towards educational equity. We work alongside school leadership to disrupt the status quo in teaching & learning through self-reflection.

Equity Matters facilitators help the school to iterate on their practices with students and propel the team toward self-accountability.

Equity Matters facilitators provide ongoing and consistent feedback and reflection using iterative, engaging, facilitated sessions to illuminate how each person and team might embody the Equity Declaration.

Equity Matters facilitators initiate programming with a Staff Kickoff to introduce the work of equity.

Participants engage in trust-building exercises to foster empathy, compassion, and respect for cultural differences, helping schools create a culture of belonging for everyone within the school community. Participants engage in an SWOT analysis to assess educational equity in current systems, structures, and processes. Then Liberatory Design Mindset programming is tailored toward the school’s priorities but intentionally address unconscious bias, trauma-informed practice, mission/vision setting, and equity literacy for adaptive change.

Continuing with the HOW

Participants engage in self-reflection activities such as creating individual and collective "WHY" statements, "A Walk Down Memory Lane" to begin to see students without the lenses of bias, preconceived notions, and self-fulfilling prophecies, and produce a school Equity Declaration that speaks to how they can provide students with opportunities to use their voice and engage deeply in the content.

Our trained executive coaches work alongside school leaders to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion for every student. We support leaders in developing the skills, mindset, and strategies necessary to foster inclusive environments to disrupt the status quo.
