During the initial phase of our approach, we will undertake a diagnostic process in collaboration with district-level acceleration coordinators to comprehensively understand the current landscape. This phase will involve conducting interviews with key stakeholders within the learning community, such as administrators, gifted coordinators, and current math teachers of accelerated students. By actively engaging with all relevant parties, we ensure that the solutions developed are closely aligned with the identified needs and that each stakeholder has a voice in the decision-making process.

We Co-create a Solution

In the second phase, we will maintain regular communication with key contacts in the school district to jointly design the pilot program and develop the requisite tools for its implementation. Our approach will involve facilitating three 6-hour professional development sessions, where we collaboratively create the entire first quarter of content as a cohort. This collaborative effort ensures alignment between the district's objectives, the specific needs of the impacted students, and allows for the integration of teachers' expertise. Moreover, we will furnish resources and assistance to construct courses that prioritize the affective needs of accelerated learners, with an emphasis on equity throughout the training process.

We Implement the Solution

In the final phase, we will initiate individualized, virtual follow-up sessions to offer personalized support and feedback to participants. We will meticulously track data pertaining to the accelerated students involved in the pilot program, comparing their performance to that of their grade-level peers, their course-level peers, and evaluating their overall engagement with the course material. Furthermore, we will collect feedback from parents and teachers and use this data to inform any necessary adjustments to the program, ensuring ongoing improvement based on empirical evidence.
