Systems in bunkers

Lighting and heating system

It's difficult to light and heat a bunker, but here are some ways on how to do so:

  • LED Lighting: long-lasting, less consume, controlled by a switch or a remote
  • Geothermal Heating: uses the temperature of the earth, using a pump
  • Radiant Floor Heating: pipes are installed in the floor, heated by hot water

Air ventilation system

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR A GOOD AIR VENTILATION?

  • install a small exhaust fan to provide fresh air and keep the atmosphere clean.
  • make sure that your bunker has a circulation and filtration system to maintain a costant supply of fresh air
  • create air openings or vents to allow for the exchange of air with the outside environment

Water storage system

  • Collect rainwater or use bottled water as a source of clean drinking water
  • Store enough water for everyone in the bunker as the air inside can become dusty and dirty quickly
  • If possibile, establish a system to collect rainwater or access a well for a sustainable water supply

Bunker now

Surviving at any cost, nuclear war, global climate change or an unstoppable pandemic. This is what worries the richest men on the planet to buy special underground bunkers and anti-nuclear luxury.

Building these bunkers however has a serious environmental impact on our world that faces problems (such as earthquakes, flooding, tornadoes, Zunami ) due to man-made climate change.

Environment

Info

Damaging

Every building requires a huge amount of energy, to heat and light the place up. This has a big impact on the environment, since most of the time these systems use electrical energy (made by using an engine) which produces carbon dioxide, which worsens the climate change. We can reduce this consumption by using renewable energy.

Damaging

If we consume so much energy up here, imagine if we started to do the same underground. This is another problem that comes with building bunkers, apart from damaging the soil and the creatures which live there. There’s no law which forbids the construction of bunkers for yourself, so this is why so many people are making their own underground shelter.
