HEALTH AND MEDICINE higher education Cardiac Electrophysiology

Doctor of Medicine

Period: 1A

Being able to observe and diagnose a differing amount of conditions is a captivating yet complicated skill. Thriving for challenges, I prefer careers that fuse my interests in cardiology, pathology and technology. As medicine evolves, electrical records for hearts will also progress, leading to higher demands for medical technicians to operate said machines for observation and advancement.

What do I WISH to solve in C. ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY?

Generally, electrophysiology should be safer for patients and staff. There are many long-term problems with electrophysiologic procedures like bruising and malignancy due to catheters and internal radiation. By optimizing labratory catheter equipment and changing the positioning of vascular access, patients will experience less internal injury and chronic radiation health problems. Additionally, making sure patients have their own standard forms of biohazard and radiological PPEs will reduce cancer growth. However, all of these rely on cost-effective strategies.

CAREER

PATIENTS

Electrophysiologists work with special heart treatment patients. Diagnoses include: tachycardias, bradycardias, atrial fibrillation (electrical condition where the heart beats out of sync), cardiac arrest, and other arrythmias.

Cardiology Subspeciality

Arrhythmias and other Disorders

Cardiac Electrophysiologists specialize in the use of internal body imaging equipment to view, diagnose and treat heart abnormalities or conditions. As we develop more advanced forms of medicinal technology, electrophysiologists constantly adapt their techniques to be less invasive and have a higher level of safety.

RESPONSIBLITIES

Along with diagnosis and abnormal heart rhythms, electrophysilogists need to know how to implant devices to regulate said heartbeat and perform ablation procedures.

ENVIRONMENT

C. Electrophysiologists work in specialized cardiac hospitals (inpatient, outpatient), medicinal-education facilities and general hospitals.

Elligibility:

SCHOLARSHIP

National Health Service Corp Program

The NHSC program offers students payment for educational degrees or medical training programs. In return, students work at NHSC, Health Professional Shortage Areas for 2-4 years, gaining clinician experience and receiving monthly pay for living expenses.

framework
  • Be 18 or younger as of the application deadline: I am still in primary education, able to apply for the program.
  • Be a U.S. citizen, a permanent U.S resident, or be stationed overseas due to active U. S military duty: I am a U.S citizen and resident.
  • Teams of two are eligible -- both members must meet eligibility: Depends on group work, the other member will have to be verified.
  • Members have to attend the awards reception and other recognition events with a guardian in September in Washington, DC. (Travel expenses and lodging will be provided by the Institute.): I have a parent guardian with me, and if scheduled correctly, can attend the award reception connection.

Elligibility:

SCHOLARSHIP

The David Institute Davidson Fellows Scholarship

Davidson Institute offers $50,000, $20,000, and $10,000 scholarships for students that exhibit extraordinary work during their educational career before college. These can include creative application of knowledge, important advancement that can be built on, and interdisciplinary discovery.

Conclusion

The growth and fall of electrophysiology

There are many fields of medicine, and in those fields, they include subspecialties that maximize an individual's strengths and work ethic. Despite shortages of electrophysiology, a resurgence of workers toward this field signal technology's advancing influence on medicine and humanity. Hopefully, people among the same interests for electrophysiology will continue to make safer and more efficient plans of treatment, rather than having the risks of long-term body complication.

Reception

Recognizing and interpreting large amounts of data is a time-consuming task. By mastering this ability, electrophysiologists create systematic work paterns that are flexible to their study.

Assembly and Analytics

Electrophysiology isn't a solo career. It is a position that takes seamless and efficient teamwork to maximize role strengths and organize the treatment of patients inside and outside the surgical sector.

Management

A connecting medical facility that is known for its NIH Biomedical research. Requirements to-be considered: -Cumulative GPA: 3.12-4.00 -Science GPA: 3.00-4.00 -Minimum MCAT Score: 505(-528) Research hours, volunteering and other schooling (extra preparedness) are required for a CWUM application, widely needed for most medical schools. --
