GREEN LAZIO IS A PRIORITY OF THE REGION

The Lazio Region's strategy is to reduce CO2 emissions to zero, aiming for 100 percent renewable energy by 2050. The plan is to achieve these ambitious results through increased energy production from renewable sources and electrification of consumption, particularly in the transport sector and energy efficiency in buildings, both in the residential, industrial and public sectors. The topic we were most interested in is facilitation and services for sustainable mobility in Lazio.

Facilities and services for sustainable mobility in Lazio

The Lazio region's goal is to achieve a 40 percent reduction in private cars by 2050. How? Through the improvement of local public transport, Lazio is an area where electric mobility can be a convenient choice, in fact the advantages of getting around Rome by electric car are numerous.

Sustainable Tourism

With the addition of charging stations for the electric car, Lazio could use this as an opportunity for Tourism, such as visiting Civita di Bagnoreggio and touring Tuscia, to admire the ancient vestiges of Etruscan civilization at Cerveteri, Tarquinia, and Faleri Novi.

For sustainable development in the transportation sector, there are also innovative projects and solutions for the future. One of these is the electric air cab, a state-of-the-art service that will connect Fiumicino airport with the center of Rome. Also under consideration is the introduction of electric boats to navigate the Tiber River.
