Amphenol FCI AirMax VS® Hard Metric connectors offer speeds of 12.5–25Gb/s and are backward compatible with existing AirMax designs.

Amphenol FCI AirMax VS® Hard Metric connector family is comprised of the VS, VS2, and VSe backplane connectors as well as Hard Metric power connectors. The AirMax series ranges in speeds of 12.5Gb/s up to 25Gb/s and are backward compatible with existing AirMax designs allowing designers to easily upgrade to higher speed performance.

Amphenol FCI AirMax VS® Connectors

  • AirMax VSe® connectors provide further signal integrity and performance improvements while maintaining the flexibility of an open-pin field design. VSe connectors mate with both VS and VS2 connectors but use smaller vias and other SI improvements to achieve 25Gb/s performance.
  • AirMax VS2® connectors offer higher performance compared to the AirMax VS series up to 20Gb/s. AirMax VS2 connectors are drop-in replacements for VS connectors and are recommended for newer designs.
  • AirMax VS® connectors are based on a unique connector design that eliminates the need for interleaving shields by using air as a highly efficient dielectric between conductors. They are ideal for use in servers, storage devices, industrial, medical, and test and measurement.
  • AirMax® High Power connectors provide options for the protected receptacle to be on the backplane/midplane or on the daughter card.
