London is the capital of England and of the United Kingdom. It is a leading global city, the most visited in the world, with 6 international airports, 18 universities and around 250 theatres . It is the largest metropolis in Europe with a very cosmopolitan population. Dozens of ethnic minorities live there side by side.

GEOGRAPHY

London was founded in 47 A.D by the Romans who gave it the name of Londonium . After London was forsaken and from the following century an Anglo-Saxon settlement developed to the west of the Roman city, around Covent Garden and the Stran, reaching a large population

History

BANGERS AND MASH

It dates back to World War II and is a dish based on sausages flavored with spices and pepper and mashed potatoes. Serve with onion sauce, fried onion rings, beans and peas.

SUNDAY ROAST

Born in Yorkshire in the years of the Industrial Revolution, it is the traditional Sunday dish: a roast meat cooked "on the bone", with the bone, and with baked potatoes, steamed vegetables and gravy.
