Definition

Active pedagogy or active learning is a set of pedagogical methods based on constructivist and socioconstructivist models, which have the common point of placing the learner at the heart of the learning process. The learner is then placed in a guided autonomy where he builds his own knowledge and skills through real contexts that make sense for him and in interaction with other learners. Thus, active pedagogy starts from the premise that it is by doing that one learns and therefore privileges investigation and authentic situations of research.
