Batband

A Kickstar project promises to transmite sound using bone conduction. Basically, it is a headset that emits sound waves through the bones of the skull, leaving the external ears free.

Named Batband, the name refers to bats, because these animals emit ultrasonic waves to comunnicate.

The device has three transducers: two that conduct sound throught the temporal bone and one that is is at the back of the head, conducting through the occipital bone. The accessory also comes with an integrated microphone for use with smartphones.

Batband looks like a headband and wrape around the back of the head, with its tips above the ears. It is controlled with a touchpad or by touching the buttons on the ends. In them, the user can answer or hang up calls, adjust the volume, skip songs, among other opcions.
