What is climate action? Climate action is any policy, measure or program aimed at reducing greenhouse gases, building resilience to climate change or supporting and financing those goals. Climate action is therefore very diverse.

Climate change will affect everyone in every country on every continent in some way. A climate cataclysm is approaching and we are not prepared for the possible consequences. Climate change is due to human activities and threatens life on Earth as we know it. With greenhouse gas emissions increasing, climate change is evolving at a much faster rate than anticipated. Its effects can be devastating and can lead to extreme and changeable weather events. To limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, emissions would already need to be falling and need to be nearly halved by 2030, just seven years away. However, we are very far from achieving this goal. It is crucial to take urgent and transformative measures that go beyond mere plans and promises. This requires raising ambitions, spanning entire economies and moving towards climate resilient development, while charting a clear path to achieving net zero emissions. Time is running out and immediate measures must be taken to avoid catastrophic consequences and guarantee a sustainable future for future generations.

Ambition and action at all levels need to be raised to tackle climate change. There are many changes happening around the world, and investments in renewable energy have skyrocketed. Still, much remains to be done. To limit the global temperature rise to well below 2°C, or even 1.5°C, the world must transform its energy, industrial, transport, food, agricultural and forestry systems. The world took an important first step in December 2015 with the adoption of the Paris Agreement, in which all signatory countries committed to take action to address climate change. Despite this, more measures are needed to meet the objectives. Companies and investors must ensure that emissions are reduced, not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because it makes economic and business sense.

It is something that we must always take into account because the planet is at stake and we have to spread the news to the world either with recycling or using less plastics.
