+ INFO
- Phage therapy as a therapeutic treatment- Innocuous against host (human) cells- Are they better than antibiotics?- Broad spectrum antibiotic's adverse effects
What is phage therapy?
- Antibiotics - kills bacteria efficiently
- Can present adverse effects to the human body
- Can have extremely negative effects on the body's microbiome
- Were made pofit off of after two Oxford professors mass produced them
- Phages - innocuous to host (human) cells
- High specificity for what bacteria they kill
- Can evolve against bacteria so superbugs aren't an issue
- Only aren't in force because of capitalism and greed
comparison
- Is it because of antibiotics?
- Was completely forgotten - complete obscurity
- Ehrlich even intended it to be a "magic bullet"
+ INFO
- They had great commercial success
