RESEARCH BASED PRACTICES
- Based on the current learning theories, I plan to adopt an in person curriculum that will allow students a chance at exploratory learning. As an instructor, I plan to teach as a facilitator meaning I want my future students to become more independent and confident in their learning. This comes from allowing students a chance to have a say in their education while educators simply act as a guide. This can also cultivate a more inclusive classroom environment.
- Teachers can help diversify the classroom by instituting an inclusion policy for all students.
- They can also diversify the learning environment by providing opportunities to learn about other communities, cultures, disabilities, and creeds.
- By providing an inclusive curriculum, teachers can ensure that all students feel safe and heard within their classroom.
Teaching as an Authority
- Teaching as an authority refers to a method of teaching that has an instructor displaying information with little feedback from students and is based on older students.
- Teaching as an authority can have negative effects on students and their learning environment as the class can be perceived as rigid without much room for individual educational growth or curiosity.
- Teaching as a Facilitator is a method of teaching that heavily relies on students basing themselves on their own capabilities through exploration as the instructor guides them towards their goals.
- Teaching as a Facilitator can help students feel more at ease and in control of their environment.
- Teaching as a Conductor involves hybrid learning which includes technological learning on digital devices as well as in person learning.
- Teaching as a Conductor can be shown to have negative effects as students can be unfamiliar with online learning as well as confused between the combination of both digital and in person platforms.
TEACHING styles
Methods for encouraging students to self-reflect can vary depending on each student and instructor.
- By self-monitoring, students can reflect on this skill in reading and writing.
- "Kids use self-monitoring to help them learn skills like math and reading" (Morin, 2023).
- "Beginning readers use self-monitoring to determine whether the sounds they’re using for the letters make sense together to create a word they recognize — a skill known as decoding" (Morin, 2023).

Classroom COLLABORATION
How do students learn
Hybrid learning is the combination of online learning and in person learning. "Hybrid and blended learning modes offer teachers the flexibility to use various teaching methods and media, such as videos, interactive activities, group projects and individual assignments, as noted by Singh et al. (2021)"
Hybrid
Online learning is a digital educational instruction platform, which can be accessed through most internet-based digital devices. Currently, online courses are on the rise due to the 2020 pandemic. According to research, "Prior to the pandemic (i.e., in the early months of 2020), only 8% of undergraduate credit hours were offered online. By contrast, in fall 2020, as the university and the world awaited the rollout of effective vaccines, 50% of student credit hours were offered online (DiGiacomo, 2023).

How Students Learn : By aNNA-lICIA rOBINSON
In-person learning is the physical format of educational instruction. While many universities offer the flexible format of online learning, physical learning offers benefits, "virtual learning can lack social interaction leading to a sense of isolation for some learners" (Mulvihill, 2023).

Collaboration within the classroom can take shape in various forms.
- In class study groups which would allow for more one-on-one discussions between peers.
- Virtual meetings for group projects that can be performed on digital platforms.
- Physical group projects that would allow for shared thoughts and shared work.
