Gastronomy
Buddhism is the predominant religion of the country. Buddhist temples are an important part of the Thai landscape and a place of worship for many worshippers.
Religion
The Elephant Sanctuary is a special place where they can interact with elephants rescued from situations of abuse and exploration. The sanctuary offers a unique learning experience about these majestic animals and the importance of wildlife conservation.
Normally taking place from the 13th to the 15th of April, it is the biggest celebration in Thailand, filled with small rituals of enormous symbolism, such as the one in which Thais take to the streets with water pistols to wet (and purify) each other or in which young people pour water on the hands of the elderly, asking for their blessings. The festival lasts three days and most establishments close to encourage workers to join their families and visit temples.
