Error Correction!

When a client engages in the wrong response or behavior in place of the reponse, the following occurs:

  1. Immediately prompt the client to the correct response and score an error.
  2. The next trial, immediately use a prompt and click on the data key.

A Quick Guide to writing a session narrative

  • State the names of at least three targets ran during session and, the total amount of trails ran and how many trials were successful
  • Intervention used, including prompts.
  • Client responses to interventions.
  • Reinforcement provided.
  • State any challenging behaviors that occurred and, proactive and reactive strategies implemented.
  • Include other client treatment program information that should be mentioned.
  • Statements must use measurable and objective language only. No assumptions, subjective statements, or opinions.

Writing the Session Narrative

The session narrative is used to descibe at least 3 targets ran during session, behaviors that occured, intervention strategies used, and the client responses.

The Left Panel can be opened and closed as you prefer. Select the left facing arrow on the top right of the session timer.

During session, the client participated in several target activities including manding, following 2-step instructions, and tolerating denied access. Tantrum Behavior: At the beginning of the session, the client engaged in tantrum behavior when access to a preferred toy was denied. The tantrum included crying and dropping to the floor. The BS used visual aids to remind client of coping strategies to manage the behavior. After 5 minutes, the client transitioned to a preferred sensory item and the session continued. Manding: The client was prompted to use manding to request snack items. The client successfully used manding to request a preferred snack 4 out of 5 opportunities with 80% independence. The BS used verbal and gestural prompts to support the client in identifying and verbalizing the request. Verbal praise and a high-five were provided each time the client used manding. Following 2-Step Instructions: The client worked on following 2-step instructions, such as "get the ball and put it in the basket." The client followed the 2-step instructions independently 3 out of 5 times. For each successful attempt, the client received verbal praise and a sticker.
