What is digital privacy OR Rights?
Digital privacy is often defined as the level of privacy an individual has regarding their personal information online and in the digital world. Concepts surrounding it- digital footprints- security
Internet privacy laws as a Digital user
Recent;y, humans have been offering more information beyond our control, almost every app and website we access ask for "cookies" to access the site. DO you know that 79.94% of personal information, instagram collects 69.23% and tiktok collects 46.15% of information
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
The goal of the act is to give consumers more control over how their personal information is handled and collected in businesses. The five rights it grants are:1. Right to know 2. Right to delete personal information shared3. Right to opt-out of sale or sharing personal information4. Right to correct inaccurate information about you in businesses5. Right to limit use and disclosure of sensitive personal information

Computer Fraud And Abuse Act
The act was passed in 1984, right after the internet became more accessible for everyone. With that being said, regulations and moral rules had to be introduced. The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act became the first official law to ensure safety.
According to Michelle Cao, “Overall, about 19 percent of Internet-using households experienced an online security breach, identity theft, or similar crime in 2019, a rate that has remained relatively steady since 2015. Reports of security breaches became more common as the range of computing devices used in a household increased, the data showed. Households reporting security breaches were also generally more common among those higher annual family incomes.’
The FACTA act is a federal law that was created to amend the Fair Credit Reporting Act of 1970. It's purpose to enhance consumer protections, especially in identity theft.What rights does it provide- obtain free copies of credit reports at least onces a year from major credit bureau- Creditors and financial institutions are required to follow red flag rules to prevent and detect identity theft . The bank alerts once receives after a suspicious transation is because of the FACTA act.

Overall, this act ensures the safety of the customers personal information to not be hacked and get to the wrong hands. It ensures the safety of privacy due to the responsibility the financial industry has under this act.

In conclusion, digital privacy and rights are paramount in today's society when personal data is continously being gathered, processsed, shared. Lawas like fair and Accurate Credits Transactions Act and the other laws stated in the slid are essential for protecting people's privacy and givng them soe for of control over their personal data. But we should beware of digital footprint and be conscious of information you post online as it may be easily accessible. You can learn and practice your digital rights by all the laws provided to protect you rights as internal users. Understanding our rights that these law create a good relationship on how we use and see social media and the internet.- Update passwords- reading terms & conditions- Practice safe browsing skillsBe careful of scams and susspicious link or request of information- Using privacy tools like VPNs, encrypted messaging, d blockers- Be watchful of the information being shared, if you can opt-out please do.- Educate yourself on privacy laws, regulationsThe act aims to provide customers with more influence regarding how companies manage and gather data about them. FACTA legislation was developed to modify the Fair Credit Reporting legislation was created to strengthen client safeguards, particularly with regard to personal information fraud. (Aaliyah)
