Napoleon

+ Commandments

The pigs used the barley for alcohol

Corruption of Napoleon

"Napoleon is always right"

  • 1.Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
  • 2.Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
  • 3.No animal shall wear clothes.
  • 4.No animal shall sleep in a bed.
  • 5.No animal shall drink alcohol.
  • 6.No animal shall kill any other animal.
  • 7.All animals are equal.

Squealer, temporarily stunned... a painbrush and an overturned pot o white paint... "no animal shall drink alcohol" but there were 2 words they had forgotten, actually the commandments read "no animal shall drink alcohol to excess".

Change of commandment

Explanation

Why this shows corruption

This shows corrupton because it proves previous allegations of the pigs changing the commandments. The change of commandment shows Napoleon's greed for power. It also shows the pigs superiority to the other animals.

Furthermore, the pigs are using the money that the farm have earnt and spending it all on alcohol. This symbolises corruption on the farm as they could've used the money to buy more desperately needed food for everyone but instead they have used it for the benefit of themselves.

The Barley Fields

"All barley would be reserved for the pigs, the field beyond the orchard had already been sown with barley"

Explanation

This shows corruption because the pigs are having empty promises and not keeping their word causing the animals t sufer the consequences They are also being very selfish because they are growing barely for the sole reason of their addition to alcohol
