Considered one of the main Brazilian journalists, specializing in investigative journalism, war coverage and the defense of human rights, he has won practically every important award in his field in his three decades of career.

Your degree

Roberto Cabrini entered the profession at the age of 16, working on a radio and a newspaper in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo. At the age of 17, he was hired by TV GLOBO, becoming the youngest network television news reporter in the history of Brazil. At the age of 22, he became the youngest correspondent in the country, working at the TV GLOBO office in New York, alongside Hélio Costa, Paulo Francis and Lucas Mendes.

Your journey in tv

In December 1990, he presented on SBT and, later, on TV Cultura. In October 1993, after seven moths of investigation, he discovered the whereabouts of fugitive from justice, Paulo César Farias In London, even evading the searches of the Brazilian police. In May 1994, it was Cabrini who reported, live, on TV GLOBO, the death of friver Ayrton Senna. At the time, he was covering the Formula 1 GP in Imola, Italy. Afterwards, he went to bologna to follow the developments of the accident. Cabrini went live, by telephone, to report Senna´s death: " Ayrton Senna da Silva has died, news that we would never want to share. Ayrton Senna da Silva has died."
