Initiative 2: Entrepreneurship Workshop

Initiative 1: Business Idea Competition

Scope: Lumi quest in hybrid format starting with a workshop style format in Dubai followed by the remaining quest in virtual mode Participants: Students from UK, Dubai, and Singapore campus visiting Dubai campus for the 4-day event. Program Delivery Option 1: Regular Quest Delivery Students sign up for the Lumi Quest. First, a 3-hour workshop where the initial sessions of Lumi are covered. Followed by the remaining sessions to be conducted in virtual mode. Option 2: Entrepreneurship Workshop Followed by Regular Quest A 3-hour workshop in Dubai about Entrepreneurship. Following workshop, students sign up for the Lumi Quest. All sessions conducted in virtual mode. Facilitation: CEO and Founder to conduct the 3-hour workshop in person Global Facilitators led by UoB alumni in virtual sessions Co-Founder & Prof of Stanford Uni to participate in 1 session for feedback

Scope: Facilitate students to scope out a real-world/business challenge Outcome: A well formed business idea to be presented in video format. Shortlisted students will develop a detailed presentation for UK visit. Quest Phases In Scope: Investigate, Ideate, Elevator Pitch of Idea Out of Scope: Solutioning, Prototype, Test, Iterate, Capstone Presentation Participants: Up to 20 students in Dubai campus Timeline: March 7 - March 24, 2024 Quest Sessions: 6-8 live sessions, each 1 hour long + offline activities Delivery: Virtual mode Facilitation: 1-2 Global Facilitators led by University of Birmingham, UK campus, alumni CEO & Founder to kick-off program and help refine ideas later in person Co-Founder & Prof of Stanford University to give feedback to ideas across (1 session)

Conduct a Proof of Concept

Run a lite version of the Lumi program for the (1) Business Idea Competition and/or (2) the Entrepreneurship Workshop as a Proof of concept to validate Lumi program efficacy for integration into Entreprepneurship Program

Launch As An Elective Course

Build skills in Entrepreneurship, Design Thinking and AI-readiness skills in the first batch of students.

Create a virtuous loop as students return to Lumi to be an Innovation Facilitator and get paid for facilitating next batches of students. And as a result further enhances their skills.

Build a Student-Led Quest Program

Forge Linkages with Industries and Gov't

Bring in corporates to sponsor quests. Builds career readiness, sets up networking opportunities, and enhances career placement opportunities (and student recruitment). Partner with gov't to support D33 agenda.

Setup an Innovation Hub on Campus

Scale quests to innovate on challenges pursued by academia and industry. Collaborate with other universities. Evolve into an accelerator program that brings in additional support and funding.
