Which is more important?
In the world of work there is always a very important question about what is more important, the satisfaction of a good job or the salary it brings you. Well, in my opinion there should be an equitable balance between good job satisfaction and the salary it brings you because you're going to spend 40 hours a week or more in that job. Although it should be equitable, I think that the salary that the work brings you is more important for a series of reasons which I will explain below.
Life Outside of Work
Work is not your life, you have your life after work and you must enjoy it outside of work, so it will be easier for you to enjoy it with the money that your job brings you.
Satisfaction of basic needs
A good salary ensures that you can cover your basic needs, such as food, housing, health care, and education for yourself and your family, so that you have a good standard of living and freedom.
Financial stability
An adequate salary provides financial stability, allowing you to save for emergencies, future investments, and retirement. So it gives you mental stability and peace of mind.
Stress reduction
A sufficient salary reduces stress related to financial worries, which can improve your physical and mental health so you will get a better quality of life.
Personal and professional development opportunities
A competitive salary can provide resources for continuing education, training, and professional development, which in turn can increase your opportunities for career and personal growth.
Financial independence
A good salary grants you financial independence, allowing you to make decisions that align with your personal values and goals without being overly dependent on others.
