Clinical Laboratory Example
Kevin is the laboratory manager for the Imaginary Healthy Clinical Lab. To start the lab, Kevin personally interviewed various candidates for the positions of lab assistant and lab staff. He made sure the candidates had the necessary educational background and certificates to perform the necessary duties, such as blood draws and blood analysis. Kevin also sourced the blood analysis machines his lab would use to perform the blood analysis tests. In addition, he also purchased the necessary medical supplies, such as syringes, needles, sanitizer, bandages, and all the other supplies his clinical lab would need and use. He makes sure to always have enough supplies on hand for a full 3 months out.
As part of the staff training, Kevin also makes sure the lab is kept clean and documents are kept secure. Kevin enjoys being a laboratory manager because no two days are alike. Some days go smoothly, while others present challenges Kevin and his team need to overcome.
