Il tripide occidentale è di origine neartica Dagli anni 60 l'aumento dei trasporti internazionali di materiale vegetale ha causato una massiva diffusione dell'insetto in ogni parte del mondo. In Europa è stato riscontarto per la prima volta nel 1983. I danni diretti si possono osservare su tutti gli organi epigei della pianta e vengono causati principalmete dalle punture degli adulti e dei giovani.

Viene utilizzato in coltura protetta, da 1 a 3 individui/m2 è un rincote antocoride predatore di tripidi. I periodi ottimali di lancio sono aprile e maggio e verso giugno tutti i tripidi vengono eliminati.

Amblyseius cucumeris

Si tratta di un acaro predatore che può essere utilizzato tra l'impianto della coltura e il lancio di Orius laevigatus, per contenere i tripidi in questa finestra temporale.Andando a lanciare da 10 a 100 individui/m2.

Beauveria bassiana

Coniste in un fungo entomopatogeno, attivo contro molti tripidi che attaccano le colture.

La cicalina verde della vite si trova in tutta la regione paleartica; in Italia sopprattutto nelle regioni settentrionali. I danni si notano principalmente nelle foglie centrali della parte bassa dei ceppi, nelle zone in ombra, tuttavia i danni nella parte alta della vegetazione appaiono più tardi nella stagione.
