- “The Great Man Theory”: born with qualities of a leader. They are born not created or can be taught. (Decisive, wise, daring, assertive)
- “Behaviorist Theory”: Leadership abilities are a product of their environment. Qualities are not born but they are formed and driven by their behavior. (Reliable, effective, task-focused)
- “Relationship theory”: Focuses on others. They serve as mentors; they are people orientated and want a positive work environment. (inclusive, supportive, motivational)
