THE LIFE OF QUEEN ELIZABETH

The royal family had visited Dartmouth Naval College attended by Philip; he was 18 years old. At the time Elizabeth was only 13, but it seems that she was attracted to him.

King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson

The King of England fell in love with Wallis Simpson, an already divorced American woman. He wanted to marry her, but that would be a disgrace to the English crown. So he had to abdicate. His brother George succeeded to the throne.

Margaret fell in love with Peter Townsend. He was war hero but he has been once divorced, so Church of England and Parliament opposed the marriage. In 1976 Margaret brought her new boyfriend Roddy Llewellyn (29 years old) to the Caribbean Island. She was still married to her estranged husband, Lord Snowdon.

When her father died, Elizabeth was in Kenya with her husband Philip because they had to visit the commonwealth colonies. When they heard about it, they went straight home.

A fire broke out in Windsor Castle, the second largest inhabited castle in the world and one of the Royal Official Residences of the United Kingdom. The castle suffered extensive damage but was completely restored in the following years at a cost of £36.5 million.

She died from injuries sustained in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris, France. Diana's partner, Dodi Fayed, and the driver Henri Paul were found dead inside the car. Dodi's bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones, was seriously injured and was the only survivor of the crash.
