I have conciously integrated diverse leterature, discussed multiple perspectives and created a supporting environment where all my students are heard and respected.
I have successfully fostered collaborative learning through a number of inclusive resources. designed for learners from all backgrounds, of all abilities and at all levels.
I believe the most effective resource is ME. My relationships with each individual learner and my ability to motivate and empower them to achive their goals.
I have also related GCSE English lessons to scenarios outside the classroom and instilled a sense of purpose in students who could not see the relevance.
As Bandura says "children observe the actions of others and copy them" - As a teacher and an individual.I strive to be a role model that is worthy of copying.

Social Learning Theory- (Albert Bandura (1901-1994)

Nearpod is a hybrid learning resource to create lessons from scratch or use the existing library of more than 15,000 lessons and videos, across grades. The system also affords videos from YouTube for easy integration with other activities. Nearpod works in a number of ways to support teacher-led classroom, student-led learning, or a single screen-led presentation teaching mode. Whichever style is used, it can easily be integrated with other other platforms to suit both teaching and learning needs.Nearpod allows teachers to create original interactive presentations with standards-aligned content. From creating a quiz using a 3D model of a location or character that students can explore to making a click-based game that teaches words and spelling, the options are abundant..

Classroom

The Skills Workshop website has free downloadable resources for teachers and learners of maths, English, ESOL and digital skills. The resources, which include interactive schemes of work, are in PDF format. Customisable versions in Word format are available in exchange for session plan/resource contributions or ideas for extension activities for existing resources. New materials are added to the site on an ongoing basis
