My name is Ms. Stokes, and I will be your teacher for Human Growth and Development. I graduated from Slippery Rock University, and this is my 4th year at CCA. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

Course Goals
Human Growth and Development
Course Description Introduction to Human Growth and Development is a semester-long course that focuses on the study of how humans grow, evolve and change physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally throughout their lifespan. You will examine the theories of cognitive development and the factors that impact physical and emotional growth and development from birth to death.
- Describe how the body develops from infancy to adulthood
- Explain the basic theories of cognitive development from infancy to adulthood
- Provide examples of physical, cognitive, and emotional development throughout the human lifespan
- Discuss how healthy behaviors can impact health status
- Analyze how the family influences in the health of individuals
Course Expectations
This class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:40pm-1:25pm Attending guided instructions is NOT mandatory, but HIGHLY ENCOURAGED. By attending the lesson and PARTICIPATING you will receive 5 points. Students that attend or at the very least watch the recordings find themselves MORE engaged and successful! Participation/edio Lessons are worth 35% of your final grade Assignments/Quizzes are worth 65% of your final grade
- If you attend class, you do not have to complete the lessons on your own and can submit it blank. If you do NOT attend class, you will have to answer all questions in the lesson to earn full participation points
- Students who attend guided instruction on assignment/quiz days will still have to complete them entirely
Setting Up a Meeting
- Find your course
- Decide if you want to meet for 15 minutes or 30 minutes
- Pick the day and time that works best for you
- Select my name (Allison Stokes) from the staff drop down list
- Type your first and last name in the details section
- I will add the meeting to your edio calendar along with my personal Zoom room link
Help me teach lessons by being a co-host in the Zoom room. Your job is to admit students who are coming to class later than the start time and make sure they have access to the interactive PowerPoint link. Please choose only TWO (2) lessons to sign up for right now.
