RememberThe Church teaches......
Sin is freely choosing -by thought, word, deed, or omission -to do something that we know is wrong and against God's will.
Priest act in the Person of Christ to forgive our sins.
In the Sacrament of Penance, our sins are forgiven. We are reconciled to God, the Church, and one another.
Our conscience is our ability to know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong.
The sins that we confess to the priest are protected by the seal of confession, which obliges the priest to total secrecy.
