East Lacashire GP programme Overview
TPDs are responsible for the planning, facilitating, and evaluating the process of learning. TPDs set the local strategy for GP education in the patch. Educational and pastoral care of trainees is included in this role.
Provides guidance on the SuppoRTT process that aims to ensure a structured process for taking time out of programme
AKT SOX educators have completed specific training on supporting individual trainees struggling to pass the AKT
An experienced SOX educator, who is very familiar with supporting GPSTs and trainers in exam preparation
The role of manager is to oversee the day-to-day arrangements of the programme. This involves planning training placements for trainees and maintaining communications with training practices.
PCMEs plan and deliver a range of educational activities to support the GP trainees. This includes the structured teaching programme. PCMEs may also undertake additional educational activities on the programme.
Lead educators have often have experience in approving practices for training and so can provide a useful reminder of GP school guidance on practicalities such as recommended supervision slots.
The DA Champion does specific work with individuals to reduce the gap in attainment, ensuring fair training for all GPSTs
