Jakob Basel is a German climate activist and politician for Alliance 90/The Greens. He is 23 years old. Grew up in Kronshagen near Kiel. He attended high school in Kronshagen, where he was deputy student representative in the 2017/2018 academic year, and graduated there in 2019. He has been studying law since the winter semester 2020/2021.

- (2018) Jakob Blasel has been part of the organizing team for the German section of Fridays For Future (FFF) since December 10. According to Greenpeace, in the FFF's first national climate strike on December 14, Blasel and his comrades-in-arms managed to mobilize 500 participants in Kiel.
- (2019) Jakob Blasel participated in the FFF summer congress in Dortmund. He gave a speech as a representative of Fridays for Future. At the Golden Chamber ceremony on March 30 in Berlin, he accompanied Greta Thunberg as she received the special award for climate protection. After graduating from high school later this year, Blasel worked full-time for Fridays for Future for a year and served as a speaker until July 2020.

He joined the Green Party in 2017. Blasel organized the first demonstration in Kiel in the fall of 2018; it was about preserving the Hambach Forest, which was to be cleared for lignite mining. Shortly after, he became the initiator of the firts school strike for climsate in Northern Germany.

In 2017, Blasel joined the Greenpeace youth. Blasel was one of the initiators of the 19th annual conference of the Council for Sustainable Development, which took place on June 4, 2019 in Berlin Congress Center.
