My name is Dimitri. Today is July 14th. In France, it is the national day. It is the anniversary of the French Revolution in 1789.

It's a day off for the family. For breakfast, we eat chocolate bread or croissants: yum-yum!

In the morning, we watch the military parade on TV. 4,000 soldiers parade in front of the president.

If the weather is nice, my family and I have a picnic with my grandparents. There's chicken, salad, and plum pie.

In the evening, there is a dance in the city centre. This is very fun. We listen to the orchestra and we party until 11 p.m.!

Then, at 11 p.m., we watch the fireworks. Afterwards, we go home. July 14th is my favourite day of the year.
