Greetings, young grammar heroes! Today, we embark on an epic quest to uncover the secrets of Action, Linking, and Helping Verbs!

Fear not, Max! Action verbs are the daring doers, linking verbs are the connectors, and helping verbs are the trusty sidekicks

Action verbs are like the stars of a sentence because they tell us exactly what someone or something is doing. When you read a sentence, think about what's happening—any action or movement. For example, in the sentence "The cat jumps on the table," the word "jumps" is the action verb because it tells us about the cat's lively movement. So, when you spot a word that shows an action, you've found an action verb!

Now, let's talk about linking verbs. These special verbs connect the subject of a sentence to more information about it. Instead of showing action, they describe a state of being or a condition. For example, in the sentence "The flowers are beautiful," the word "are" is a linking verb because it connects the subject "flowers" to the description "beautiful." So, if you see a word that connects the subject to more information or describes a state, you've uncovered a linking verb!

Lastly, let's unravel the mystery of helping verbs. These are like the support team for action verbs, adding extra details, or telling us when an action is happening. In the sentence "She is reading a book," the word "is" is a helping verb. It works alongside the main verb "reading" to tell us the action is happening right now. So, when you encounter a word that works together with the main verb, helping it out, you've found a helping verb!
