Example 1: Food Production One aspect of horticulture is focused on food production. For example, farmers who grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs on a small scale use horticultural practices. They may cultivate crops in gardens, greenhouses, or through hydroponics, which is growing plants without soil using nutrient-rich water. Example 2: Landscape Design Horticulture is also involved in landscape design and gardening. Landscape architects and gardeners use horticultural knowledge to create visually appealing and functional outdoor spaces. They select and arrange plants, considering factors like color, texture, and height, to achieve a specific aesthetic or design goal. Example 3: Nursery Operations Horticulture includes nursery operations, where plants are propagated and sold. Nurseries produce and sell various types of plants, such as trees, shrubs, and flowers. The cultivation, care, and maintenance of these plants require horticultural techniques such as grafting, pruning, and proper watering.

For instance: Dairy Farming: Cows are raised to produce milk, which is a primary source of nutrition for many people. Poultry Farming: Chickens are reared for meat and eggs, which are widely consumed globally. Apiculture: Beekeeping is another aspect of agriculture, providing honey, beeswax, and pollination services.
