The News 2 February 2024 - St Bede's

Dear Parents,It has been an extremely exciting week as we saw the relief of the Year 11s upon finishing their mock exams and on their year group retreat walking with their friends to Rievaulx. They reflected on St Aelred's teaching about friendship and their own relationships. Year 12 enjoyed their social with St Hugh's and St Dunstan's and St Oswald's. We all enjoyed a lie in - great for our community wellbeing!Amber had a successful trip to the Model United Nations Conference hosted by Stonyhurst. Our Year 10 and 11 have been doing some amazing work as part of the CAFOD Young Leaders group. Well done Lizzie and Mia J in particular for their support of Ampleforth Village's Winter Warm Spaces Initiative - offering lunch and a warm room and conversation for those in need. We're thinking of Anastasia, Amber and Masha who are out on their Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition at the moment and three of our girls are participating in the school play, Little Shop of Horrors: Ophelia, Margaret and Victoria P - we wish them the best of luck and look forward to supporting them this week. A huge well done to Anastasia T who beat Mr Butler at chess in a matter of minutes...next challenger, Mr Mutton...watch this space!
